does any one know how she is able to get it so straight with only a flat iron? cause I thought she had a relaxer

I'd like to know this too. Her hair is beautiful in person. My hair looked like I had a relaxer last time I got it pressed, and it was with a flat iron. But I haven't been able to achieve this look on my own....yet.

My sister and I know her too. :) I met her only once at a Spelman homecoming, but my older sister knows her very well. She pledged her (Eta Kappa Chapter of Delta) at Spelman college. She is definitely not relaxed..... she presses her hair.

I just turned to my sister (who is sitting next to me) and asked her to confirm. She laughed at me and was like, "Umm, no Keisha's hair natural!" :look:

I met her about 5 years ago, and she was definitely natural then. In college, Keisha had been my roommate's...spesch? (I have no idea what that is, but they said it all the time) and she came over for her Christmas party (btw, my old roommate must know your sister then! Small world!:D )

Anyway, her hair was in a bun, but she had waves for days. It was beautiful.

I think she's relaxed. Her has has always been thick. Some people's hair still looks thick even when relaxed bone straight. My moms hair is like that.
I totally agree. I just recently flat-ironed my hair and even though the strands were straight my hair came out looking pretty thick. But at the same time, when my stylist flat irons it, she makes look relaxer straight. I just need to get better at doing it myself.:perplexed

So are you close to her? What's her hair regimen if you don't mind finding out

She has a hair admirer :sekret:

or why her hair didnt puff out after she got it wet?

Maybe she wore a weave on the show or her hair doesn't revert immediately. Back when I got my hair pressed, it didn't revert fully until it started to dry. I dunno. Just throwing this out there. I don't have the inside scoop.

LOL! This thread is funny to me for some reason. Anyway, she does have great hair, relaxed or natural.

I love her hair!!! I wanted her cut and color but I chickened out.

Me too. I actually have a couple of pictures of her hair saved to my laptop for whenever I get up the courage.

Ya'all, I know absolutely nothing about the girl.... or her regimen for that matter. I didnt pledge Delta at Spelman along with them (I went to UMBC). I was introduced to her during tailgating at Homecoming one year. We met briefly, hugged as sorors, and that was it. I would guess that she has 3c hair and very thick naturally.

It's definitely possible for pressed hair to get that straight. I pressed my hair for a long time before i finally relaxed it. It got just as silky and straight when i pressed it, and looked exactly like my relaxer now. I only ended up relaxing it because it got annoying having to avoid the humidity/rain in the summer. But i will say that after pressing it for so long... when it got wet it did not puff back up into a kinky afro. It eventually becomes overprocessed and remains straight when it gets wet. Kind of hard to explain.... but it was a result of long term pressing for me.

Lauren450, Im sure they do! My sisters name is Nabs, and she pledged in Spring 1998. ;)

My hair did this as well when I got it pressed regularly in high school before getting a relaxer.

Thank you! I'm so tired of people messaging me asking if I have a perm because natural hair shouldn't be able to get that straight!

LOL @ this thread. Never thought enough of it to ask but I did think she relaxed. That was in ATL tho. lol. Don't know what she's doing to it now. She has great hair either way.

I read some where that she flat irons her hair.
Yeah she I saw that somewhere too. She said she was natural and flat ironed it but that was a few years ago.

Ok thanks, I had to ask

No doubt you can get hair stick straight while natural  My hair got the life pressed out of it when I was in grade school...damaged as hell but it still looked nice

Ok, I got the dirt!

I sent my old roommate a message, and this was her reply:

yep, keesh is all natural... been that way for years... she presses it w/ceramics every week or so... she useta use basic pantene products...

 Maybe I should send Keshia a message on Myspace and see if I can get her regimen. She doesn't appear to have any heat damage, so she must be doing something right.

Soror has very pretty hair, but she's a beautiful person. I can believe that she is natural... makes me think that maybe I should go natural...
