I hope this isn't a repeat thread......:ohwell:

But i wanted to know what the ladies in here use in their shea butter mix...last time i just mixed EVOO with mine and it was great....

This time i wanna mix it with Vatika Coconut oil and Evoo.

I just did this yesterday. :) I mixed mine with some vitamin e oil and I also added some strawberry seed oil to mask the scent a bit. Silk City!

Nothing, Its EA Shea Butter so it doesn't require mixing.

Oh i just did this yesterday. I mixed it with coconut oil and wow it was so soft.

I read a thread where someone mixed her shea butter by accident with glycerin. I had one of those "REALLLLLY!" moments and so about two weeks ago I did the same. I also added coconut oil and my natural hair :yep: has been thanking me ever since.

I brought some un-refined shea butter yesterday, and mixed it with evoo... my hair feels very moisturized...but question? is this too much moisture for relaxed heads?

I think this is probably an individual thing depending on how dry one's hair is. It is VERY rich though, and my hair feel super moisturised. It is not a product to be heavy handed with, that's for sure.

thanks, I will probably use it 3 -4 times a week as opposed to daily... or maybe just daily on my ends.

I miix it with HB carrot oil (The oil in the little 3oz container).
Last time I used it, I rubbed it on my scalp and ng. Soft for days!

I call this my Citrus Mix:

  • Unrefined shea butter
  • Essential Rosemary Oil
  • Essential Lemon and Orange Oil
  • *Essential Grapefruit Oil..if I have some*
  • And Unrefined Avocado Oil.
The smell is to die for...

Coconut oil, peppermint drops, jojoba oil all whipped together stored in a used cholesterol con jar.

Wow that sounds divine! I've got to sexy up my mix a bit - yours sounds good! :D

A bunch of things....ORS Carrot oil, Olive oil, avocado oil, biosilk for the bling and the silkness, Rusk smoother leave-in for the moisture and softness, Coconut oil, tree tea oil and bergamot oil for the smell... Yes I know I am crazy with my homemade moisturizer but my hair loves it, specially my ends :)

Every six months, I make a new mix. My latest is shea butter, coconut oil, babassu oil, ccocoa butter, camellia oil, sweet almond oil infused with nettle, green tea and chamomile.

I have been mixing mine with vatika oil. My hair stays moisturized with this combination.

I put glycerin, grapeseed oil and a fragrance since i'm not too crazy about the smell of it on its own. Now my hair is super moisturized plus I smell gooooooooood!

I voted for coconut cause it's part of my combo but what i actually do is:
1 part shea
1/2 part castor oil
1/2 part coconut oil
scent.

I mix mine with castor oil, red palm kernel oil, coconut oil, or olive oil. I just got some Vitamin E oil so that's going into the next batch.

for those who use unrefined and raw shea butter, do you know of a reputable online seller? i have looked through almost all of the past threads on this issue and still don't really feel comfortable/confident that i will definitely be purchasing what i want, which is completely unaltered and organic shea butter. i would looooove some suggestions! thanks in advance.

^^I found my shea butter at an african store in KC but I also bought it off them computer at africansheabutter.org. My sister made my batch and I believe she whipped it up with jojoba, coconut, and rosemary oil. I use it when I twist my hair and when it feels dry when I do a wash and go

cinnamin2891, try fromnaturewithlove.com
I get mine from sheabuttercottage.co.uk, but I'm in Europe. I've read positive things about fnwl. HTH

Castor oil and coconut oil. I mix this up with shea butter and use it as a hair butter.

Subscribing. I hope if I whip/mix it with something else it will actually moisturize my hair instead of just drying hard on top.

Question... when doing these mixes are you ladies putting this all over your hair or just on the ends.

Aloe vera juice and coconut oil. I whip and use if for my hair, body, and especially my feet when I get out of the shower . I slather it on and throw on my socks. Extra soft, non-crusty feet in the morning.:yep:

r u guys melting the shea butter first?
i did the glycerine and castor oil with it but i need to find a scent it stinks so bad

Coconut or castor oil and aloe vera gel or fantasia ic gel.
