Hi Ladies,
I'm working on my web page, however, it's doin' it's own thing... so I decided to go ahead & post the pics in my album until I work out the web pg kinks.

Just wanna mention a couple of things...

1) I'm going to try to post the next set of pics by Monday...(pics showing my hair once washed/conditioned after the touch up). Hair will be tremendously fuller, which I love!

2) I'm kinda' sensitive about my "rolling" skills

I second that!

Girl your hair is so beautiful...and the fact that you do it yourself makes it very special. I admire that. I like doing my own hair also. Once again I must say you are such a cutie. The camera loves you. I enjoyed looking at your pics.

Your hair is gorgeous, but I agree with Faith you are definitely not a 4A/B, I don't know any 4s that could go that long w/o a touch-up and not receive massive breakage. Also in your pics of the newgrowth it doesn't look 4ish to me. My favorite picture is D, truly gorgeous!

Peachtree your hair is the bomb
smile.gif
Keep growing! I can't wait for my hair to get that long.

Peachtree,

You have a gorgeous head of hair!! Your touchup came out so nice & straight
smile.gif
. Good job!!!

I'm at week 15 since my last touchup and looking at your pictures is making me even more anxious to get mine done! I'm going next week!

Peachtree, your hair looks gorgegus. I have a question, did your hair come out that straight just after a rollerset and no heat. Whether it did or not, your hair still looks great. I just wondering because i might want to try to that soon. It probably won't turn out the same because i do not have a perm,my hair in naturally wavy and curly, and i just want to reduce some of the shrinkage without heat usage

Which relaxer did u use and how long did u leave it on? Oh and what did u use to get that bling, bling shine

[/ QUOTE ]
I used Optimum No Lye, regular strength. I leave it on for approx 15 min (timing includes application & smoothing). Now as for the bling bling shine, I use African Royale Hot 6 Oil, this gives an excellent shine but to be quite honest, I believe u were seeing the flash bulb from the camera, giving the illusion of more shine than it really had.

Did u do the touch-up yourself? What relaxer did you use?

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, I applied the touch up myself. I have managed my own hair care (consistently) for 13 yrs now. I used Optimum No Lye, regular strength. Thanks for your kind words Kita.

Did you always have long hair?

[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for the compliment Ny2atl.
smile.gif
. Yes, I have always had long hair, except for my college graduation in 95, I cut it from bra strap to a Halle Berry style! (I will try to post a graduation pic). I let it grow to shoulder length & beyond a few more times, but found it easier to care for at shoulder length (keeping in mind, I did not have a regime, & frankly did not care much about it). I kept it shoulder length for several yrs. Sept 1, 2002, it was about 4.5 inches from the back bottom of my neck. That is when I developed my current regime. Now it is 11inches.

Levette
In reply to:

what is your regime?

[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks Levette. Girl your hair is beautiful also.
cool.gif
(I replied to your photo post).

My weekly regime I make sure to MOP it. (M =moisturized, O=oiled, P=protected). & I keep the regime very simple.

-pre shampoo with Hot 6 Oil, extra virgin olive oil, or VO6 (have not used but will use tonight). I warm the oil & apply it to hair & scalp. Cover with plastic bag & leave on for couple hrs if I can but usually it stays on for 30 minutes.
-shampoo with Crème of Nature, Motions Lavish
-deep condition with Motions Moisture Plus for 15-30 min under warm hooded dryer. I add Hot 6 Oil or olive oil to my conditioner.
-use Motions leave in, apply Hot 6 oil then set. Sometimes I will use Miss Cool for my sets I want to keep my curls for 4 days, otherwise I will omit the setting lotion.
-Once monthly, I clarify with Suave Clarifying shampoo.
-If my hair seems a lil too dry, I will give it a conditioner wash with Suave Coconut.
-Between washes, for a moisture boost, I will spritz with S-Curl Moisturizer & Hot 6 oil, or water & Hot 6 oil.
That is pretty much it!

Gurrrrl, u are too funny!

Thanks for your kind words. Now let me answer some of your questions;
I have ben told that my hair grows really fast, however, not fast enough for me. But to answer your question, I attribute the quickness to my no heat regime, which means no breakage. My hair has literally thrived ever since I stopped blow drying & hot curling. That is about the 1 thing that has made a tremendous difference. I do not eat healthy, I am over weight, I do not exercise & I do not take vitamins, so it has to be the the no heat theory. However, beginning tomorrow, I am starting my vitamin regime & my overall health & fitness regime, so pray for me!!!

As for my hair type, well, I was puzzled with this for a while. My kitchen-tician friend is the one who introduced me to the hair type/classification thingy last yr. She told me that I was a 4b. Then I read up on it & was still a lil confused. I showed the information to my mom's beautician & he confirmed that I was a 4b also. So this is what I've been going by...

SweetCocoa,
you're such a Sweetie Pie!
smile.gif
I have nothing but luv 4u. Thanks for the compliment; it means a lot coming from u, coz, your hair is simply beautiful!!! Thanks for thinking I'm a cutie; u & Armyqt have given my ego a strokin today!!!

Ms Kenesha
Thanks girl! You' re really sweet.
smile.gif
Thanks for the kind words. Kenesha, please refer to the response I gave Faith re: my hair type. I'm still a lil confused about it (when I read up on it) but like I said, I've had people literary play around in my new growth, to give me their assessment of my hair type and well, that is what they have concluded. But I'm a lil curious; do u have any ideas of the type, from what u could see???

Again, thank u everyone. Your encouragement & support has truly been felt.

God Bless u all
smile.gif

Luv,
Peachtree

Hey Lindy!
Thanks girl
cool.gif
. I just took a look at your pics... love your hair. I really like the color too. How exactly does the "John Frieda" system work? I really loved those curls...

Hi Steph!
Thank u for the kinds words.

In reply to:

[/ QUOTE ]

I use heat.... I use a hooded dryer on warm. (if that's considered heat
ohwell.gif
... i guess it is...) But that's the only heat I use, and that's once per week or every 10 days if I get lazy
look.gif
.

Girrrrrllll, what are you eating, taking (by way of supplement), doing to make your hair grow so well????

How gorgeous! I will peruse the comments before me, but I sure hope you have or intend to post your regime.

Well done, Peachtree! Yet another hair inspiration for me. Especially considering your hair type...woohooo!

Fondly,
AZ

Babycurls, I luv your positivity. Your truly a sweet, sweet heart. That's such a beautiful quality to possess....& u wear it well

rofl.gif
. I never had anyone ask me this...too funny!!!

Well, I don't eat healthy, which explains why I'm overweight
shocked.gif
, and I don't take any supplements........yet. Beginning tomorrow, I'm starting my vitamin/fitness/health regime. I've attibuted my "quick" success to not using heat. Since beginning my regime on Sept 1, 2002, I have gained 6.5 inches... So that's definitely attributed to staying away from daily hot curling & weekly blow drying. I'm really excited though about my vitamin regime... God knows I'll be sooooo happy if the vitamins agree with me.

God Bless,
Peachtree

Cool! My question has been answered. Thanks for sharing Peachtree.

Did i mention that I LOOOOOVE your hair. Oooo. if I just wasn't so lazy when it comes to wet set...UGh!

How is your hair styled when you sleep at night? Please don't say wrapping which is another lazy woman's nightmare.

Thanks for sharing your pics and regime. And ohmigoodness. What is your hair gonna do when you start taking supplements and exercising?????

Happy growing, Girl!
AZ

Oh stop it AZ....you are tooo kind!

Gurrl, don't get me started about wet sets.... i hate 'em with a passion!!!
mad.gif
. I hate to roll 'em, & I rather stare at a blank wall for 3 hrs than to sit under that dryer. Gosh, I hate those roller sets... but they have literary "rescued" my hair from that weekly blow dryer...

At night, I gather the hair in a very loose ponytail, secured with a satin scrunchie, and covered with a satin bonnet, that comes off in the middle of the night... I really need to buy a satin pillow case before I run into trouble...
