Don't anyone attack me for saying this. But i'm not looking forward to my natural hair yet, its so famaliar.... i want to stick with texturized hair..... when i had my hair first texturized my hair for 5 minutes it was so thick slighly curly/frizzy and funnily enough my hair ends stayed more moisturised, silly me i went back to the hairdresser to have it processed more and my hair took a turn for the worse she left it on too long.

it was dry all the time....then i went to another stylist who processed my newgrowth bone straight....this caused major friction and texture problems, i did a corrective but the textures still wouldn't cooperate which is why i was going to transitioning...i'm not going to rush into having texturizer, i'm hoping to grow out the relaxed ends first before giving it another try...i will just stretch my relaxer for a while and see how it goes.

Anyway i know when you lot, read this, some of you may be be piised off with me because i know that a lot of ladies are transitioning, but i'm just being honest..i can't lie to myself about how i feel. just wanted to share my thoughts

now why should anybody be pissed about you doing what YOU feel is best for YOUR hair?!?!? dont worry, den, we still ya girls! you gotta make den happy, and no one else!

so, whats your plan now?? just to get as much new growth as you can and try and get the texturizer done correctly this time??

I am totally for doing what you need to do! You can say you tried and it just isn't time for that. I had my moment this weekend and I felt the same way you did. (They are going to be pissed) I am pondering a texturizer myself, but I am still doing the transitioning routine. Whatever is in your heart, go for it. :clapping:

What she said. We still love you Den

It's YOUR hair, period. So you do what makes you happy, okay? Stay texturized, go natural, heck go fully relaxed if you want to girl. I just really love your hair and I personally think it would be beautiful natural, but like I said, it's YOUR hair and more than anything I think most of us just hope you'll be happy.

I understand not wanting to go back to being natural again- I mean it was your stylists who forced you to make the decision in the first place. I'd say, do what ever makes you happy. BTW- I'm sure there are some militant naturals but most just seem like me (really really happy about their personal choice).

sheesh! makes us natural heads sound like a cult!!!
Shatani,
I have had conversations with people who have made it seem like one. More importantly, like if I dont belong to it I am somehow deficient. Sad.

You do you... and we will support your decision. We won't kill you or be upset, because at the end of the day... you have to do what makes you happy. Its your hair... your head :)

Hi girl!! thanks for your support!!! i know when i first had texturizer....certain people weren't very happy with my decision and had halted all communication with me, i'm not naming names here. It really messed with my head as it made me feel bad like i had sinned against God in some way because, even though its my real hair but to others its not the texture i was born with, so it doesn't count as anything.

my plan is to acheive enough growth using the crown & glory method....and to cut off the relaxed hair. i've done a texturizer at home with my sister and it turned out well, i also do my sisters hair without problems, so i know exactly what to do, i had to learn fast because the hairdressers were killing my hair. I will probably change to motions oil mild it worked very well on my lil sis fine hair. my aim is texturize for a few minutes, to loosen slighlty, i have no goal to create curls anymore, i want to keep the look closer to my natural texture and do touch-up on newgrowth once every 6 months.

ITA!!! I KNOW THEY'RE GONNA BE PISSED!! i'm still continuing with the transitioing routine because its imoprtant that i get rid off the varying textures on head. However i won't be BCing.. then throw another chemical in fast...lol thats not me. Natural hair doesn't scare me, i know there are some people who were relaxed from very young ages and miss their natural texture because they weren't given a chance to embrace it. yes i had bad experience from last feb onwards because the stlyslits didn't know how to handle my texture/thickness, its partly my fault too because i tried products that my relaxed hair coundn't tolerate, but its not because my hair couldn't cope with a relaxer. my hair was wonderful in the beginning but i paid the price when i allowed the stylist to mess with it. thank you for leaving with the thought. Whatever is in your heart, go for it.

Hey, hopeful my hair was beautiful natural too!!! i have an album which was my first when i came to this forum, you can check out my true texture in the hairstyles 05 album. i currently consider myself relaxed with loose curls, my hair was orginally texturized and close to my natural texture it just had less shrinkage and more definition thats how i want my hair again. Thank-you

I Was Natural When I Came To This Forum And When I Saw Ladies With Relaxed Hair, I Didn't Think Anything Was Wrong With That. I Remember Someone Posted My Natural Hair Nappturality With My Permission And They Tore Me Apart Because My Hair Was Long And I Was Streching It To Show Length. We Just Have To Please Ourselves

You sound just like me when i was natural, just happy to be me. btw i love your natural hair, its so beautiful and so are you.

Thanks ladies for your words of confidence....i can always can on you all to brighten up my day, i feel better now getting everything out in the open. your so lovelyyyyyyy

Den, I ain't made at cha. You have some beautiful hair and as long as it's healthy it doesn't matter if it's natural or texturized. :yep:

den1...when i first had texturizer....certain people weren't very happy with my decision and had halted all communication with me said:
YOU DID! I think its in the book of Mormon or something,

11th Commandment: "Thou shalt have natural hair or none at all."

But I'm still confused, what ARE you going to do? transition? to what? texturize again?

Yep Den...do whatever makes you feel happy.

I have a question though. I usually don't hear the texturized ladies say that they add something to their relaxers...to make like less harsh/straighten less. I wonder why?

I don't remember who it was, but someone on this board said that they put conditioner into their relaxer. I thought that was a great idea...I had to pass it on family and friends.

Do you think that adding something like oil or conditioner will help?

Good Luck!

Well Den, you just do what you have to do. You are the one with the hair on your head so you should do what feels right to you! :D

And if anybody is pissed.....so the hell what? They're not paying your bills or an important part of your life.....so screw em! :yep:

I don't think people would be mad at you (personally) for doing what you want to do with your hair...

...But I think what some people are mad at "in general" is how so many of our sisters and brothers think that they're not beautiful, unless they "Do something" about there naps..... I fall in this group, NOBODY will get ANY approval from me regarding the use of relaxers/texturizers on the hair....Just like I wouldn't advise somebody to pick up smoking lol. I also tend to shy away from "those types of theads" because I already know.....it aint fo' me to be up in there lol.

I'm mostly concerned about my own naps but I do give advice to those who I think want it and are willing to listen......I do my best by leading by example :0). But if you "in general" ask me a question then you "in general" can expect the truth.....

Either way its your choice what you do is what you do, and one can't make a person do what they don't want to do anyway.

When its all said and done, life is so much more than hair for me..... you would still be considered my sister......

peace
