Hey girls.
:drunk::grin:Got the curls whipped cream... it is GREAT!!!!:drunk:

whipped-cream_d.jpg

I will probably post several reviews because I'm gonna try all my styles with this yummy goodness before i sell all my products... but it looks like I may be doing that... this stuff is amazing...
Fat girl alert: When i got it... I tasted it.:lick: Thats how good it smells. Don't eat it though, it actually tastes horrible... now on to the hair
:lachen: :lachen: :lachen: :lachen: :lachen:
I must tell all of you, I have been looking for a product to define my curls without the stick of gel and the greasiness of other stuff... and no wet neck!!!! wet neck is the worst... ive just been mixing and mixing and mixing...
i have over moisturizing, tangles, dryness, stretchiness, everything...
after I used this I am debating on throwing all other products away...
there is no alcohol in this product so there is no drying factor...
Before I did this wash n go I had my hair in twists and had been to the beach... it was my 3rd week in twists, they were wet every day, and they were LOCKING UP!!!! I think this is quite a testament to how great this product is...
So first... here's the Wash n go! I clarified with the kids motions clarifying shampoo, then I conditioned with mane n tail... I detangled using water/glycerine mix.

still wet...

Pretty dry... great definition... moisturized but not wet

The front pulled back

The draw backs:

  • I have heat/color damage in the front on the last 5 inches of my hair... when i say the front i mean from crown to my forehead... i bleached the front last january... this portion of my hair is not taking well to the thickness of the product, which is fine because i pull it all back anyways... so if you have a head full of waves that have been loosened from heat or colored, this might not be for you... if you have only a few then its fine
  • This is NOT a detangler! The site advertises a curl moisturizer with it and I can see why... if your hair dries quick then the product wont comb through easily... It doesn't make knots worse, but trying to untangle knots with this stuff in is not the same as untangling with detangler I used water and glycerine to loosen the curls back up... then when I added this cream it combed through fine, but I was so confused when I was adding it to the dryer portions...
  • My roots are not flat after brushing, but a scarf can fix that
My hair is shiny, moist, and defined!!! I will definitely be ordering the moisturizer and the souffle for my damaged portions until I can cut those out...
THIS STUFF IS A KEEPER!!!

my stylist says a 3c...
but if you want to think that, thats fine LOL
either way that curls stuff is grand
thanks lady

There really isn't that much of a difference between the two textures except for the shine. I would say that Lexiwiththecurl, SouthernTease, GoingNatural and EmpressRi are both true 3c hair textures. Your curls are a bit smaller in diameter and kind of lack the "Sheen" of 3c hair.
Hair typing is not that big of a deal. Majority of the tips we've learned here were brought from a board of women with type 1-3a textures, and then we expanded upon them to suit our needs. But, if you are going to make a point of labeling your texture and being very stringent about it, I feel that you should know that you are not a type 3c.

:look: word is bond LOL

It may the the lighting in regards to the sheen. Your hair looks like my 3c parts of my hair. But I am mostly 4a.

ETA: Also I have seen many reviews that state that the Whipped Cream may make your hair look dull. Reviewers recommend using a light oil or other product to get rid of this dullness.

Your hair looks nice and soft. Keep experimenting with different products. This product definitely moisturizes my hair but it makes it somewhat frizzy and less defined. Have you tried Teri's method with conditioner? I think Hello Hydration would work nicely in your hair. Keep us updated.

Hair typing confuses the bajeezus out of me sometimes...no matter how much I read. I thought type 4 has sheen and type 3 has shine?

And very lovely hair!!! First time I've seen your face as well, you're pretty! LOL @ eating the product!:lachen:

I will get back to you later. I know she has a you tube tutorial and website explaining her method. But I forgot what it's called. Check out the shingling thread as well.

Good products for wash and goes mentioned by others:
Kinky curly custard
Some people like Miss Jessies Curly Meringue and other products for curls
Leaving conditioner of your choice in hair-Hello Hydration, Pantene Curls, Lustrasilk Shea Butter
Fantasia gel over leave in
Eco Styler gel over leave in
Cantu Shea Butter leave in
There are so many more check out all the wash n go threads

cantu changed their product its too watery now, it gives me tangles
I was gonna try the KCC and Miss Jessie next, or the qhemet stuff since their site opened up again...
ok about gel over leave in, does this add crunch or hold? i have a whole jar and only use it for my edges... im scared of it lol

i just ordered the qhemet heavy cream and the root burdock cream... round 2? lol
i kinda want to order a big jar of one of them but im not tryin to drop $20 right now

Oh my goodness

Anyhoo, thanks for posting this review. I actually want to try another Curls product called Gel-les'c.

u have a looser curl than i do
have u tried qhemet? if so which one?

Yes, I've been saying I'm 3bc but I don't think the curl type system really captures the diversity of our hair.

I like the Curls Gel-les'c product. It reminds me of KCCC without the crunch. It's what is on my siggie picture.

I do need lots of moisture and my hair loves butters. I recently tried the qhemet products. I love the Burdock Root one (smells devine and it's a great consistency). I also liked the alma and olive heavy cream. I only got the samples but it took over a month for them to send it to me. I really want to reorder but I'm not excited about the shipping time and cost!

yeah im scared of the heavy butter cuz i think it might be too much, however i dont want to get samples cuz if i like one of them then it will take me forever to get them...
decisions decisions

my hair loves this stuff. i have been using it for months now. i usually go back and forth between curls and kbb. i always use my whipped cream on top of my milkshake and my hair stays soft and defined all day long. sometimes i use it over the quench moisturizer but its not necessary as i dont think the quench moisturizer does much of anything for me. the whipped cream and milkshake are keepers.

oh and i have mostly 3c straw size curls. i have a patch of four something hair on my left temple and that side does not absorb product like the rest of my hair so sometimes the whipped cream leave a white residue right there. i usually dip a q-tip in coconut oil and run it along that side and the white stuff goes away.
