Okay, so I baggied my whole head for the 1st time yesterday. I used a shower cap and guess what? I have an indention on my forehead that doesn't look like it's going away in the next 4 hours or so. So my question is how do you get around looking like you slept in shower cap?

I had that and it was a pain what I do is tie a scarf around my edges and forehead then put on my Baggy and then tie my other scarf over my baggy. so far no indention in the forehead, because I would be rubbing all morning trying to make it leave.

I personally don't put the shower cap all the way to the edge because I like the front of my hair to be really flat/straight in the morning. I have it about 2-3 inches away from my hairline. Then I tied my scarf around the front and on top of the front of the shower cap knotting it at the back (nape area). I also make sure that the shower cap that I am using is a warn out one, the elastic istypically a little dull so it does not cause an indentation.

My shower caps tend to use elasticity after a couple of use so I don't have to worry about indention. I usually have to twist my cap to keep it on.

I use two headbands the cloth ones
I put one on
then the bag
then the other headband over the bag

I never get an indention and the baggie stays in place all night.
I also cove it all with a silk scarf because i hate the crunchy noise

This is funny and eerily approopriate because I am sitting here with at least 2 dent marks in my forehead from all night baggying with braids.

I have been using the other type of caps, the plastic processing caps and those aren't too tight around my hairline because the elastic is much looser and more flexible.

To avoid this problem, I've been using clear plastic bags from the grocery store produce section with a scarf tied over it. The ones I get are strong, not the flimsy type and because they are pretty big, ladies with longer hair will have sufficient space. These have been working great, plus they're free which is even better!!!

Also - DRINK MORE WATER!!! If you are getting long term indentations, you aren't hydrated enough - them bad boys should plump out in undder 1/2 hour if you are fully hydrated.....

Great idea! I would certainly save the dollar that I spend on the stack of processing caps from the BSS. I just hope I don't get caught taking an extra 10 or so while shopping! :lachen:

On another note, has anyone ever told you you look like Toni (Jill Marie from Girlfriends)?

Okay the next time I find myself with those indentations and need to look cute really quick, I'll be all over those "bad boys".

That's what I was thinking. I never have a mark for very long.

I am a newbie that has been natural for 2 years 7/07. What exactly the purpose of baggying, do you put anything on your hair and is it wet all night?
