Because of SleekandBouncy's thread (http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=478902), I'm about to order a few products from the Korres line. I did a search and really couldn't find a thread addressing this question.

I'm looking for a new leave-in protein conditioner and I was going to order Korres Almond Proteins Leave-On Conditioner. Now, I know "protein" is in the product name, but I think I read somewhere on here that there are different types of proteins designed to do very different things (i.e., strengthen, repair, moisturize, etc.). I'm looking for a leave-in that will strengthen my hair, so here are the ingredients in the product:

Aqua (Water), Alcohol Denat., Glycerin, Quaternium-82, Beheneth-10, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylene Glycol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Cetyl Palmitate, Citral, Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Silk Amino Acids, Cocotrimonium Methosulphate, Coumarin, Glyceryl Stearate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Extract, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Hydrolysed Sweet Almond Protein, Hydrolysed Wheat Protein/PVP Crosspolymer, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone,Limonene, Linalool, Panthenol, Parfum (Fragrance), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG-16 Macadamia Glycerides, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, PPG-26 Buteth-26, Silk Amino Acids, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Sodium Gluconate, Tocopherol, Yeast extract (Faex).

Will this do the trick or should I keep looking for a strenghtening, protein-based leave in?

Shy I can't help. I was eye-balling that one too. The only thing that stopped me is both products have alcohol denat. I may still purchase, just doing research on that particular ingredient.

Thanks ladies for the responses.

I decided against it. I'll stick with the Aphogee Keratin and Green Tea leave-in. It's accessible, never has really given me any problems, makes my hair stronger, but was just wondering if there was something "better" out there.

I noticed the Aphogee has keratin protein and I know that strengthens hair, the Korres leave-in utilizes wheat protein and I think that's more for moisture. And this review made me think it was more of a moisture-based product too: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1924894/my_review_of_korres_almond_proteins.html?cat=69

Wheat Protein is a moisturizing protein, Panthenol is supposed to help hair thicken up, Silk Amino Acids contain some strength and help the hair feel smoother and softer (i.e. silkier), almond protein helps to enhance elasticity and the tensile strength of hair, sunflower extracts protects about UV damage/radicals, glycerin is a moisturizing humectant,

Something to take note: This item contains denatured alcohol as the 2nd ingredient and sulfate, if your hair doesn't respond well to that this product may not be for you.

This product won't (in my opinion) take the place of a protein treatment but it will help offer some strength.

Thanks so much for the detailed response, I thought I remembered something about wheat protein being more moisture-based but I had no idea what some of those other ingredients' purpose was. I don't think this product would be a good replacement for the Aphogee Keratin Leave-in, I'm glad I didn't purchase it. Money saved.

You're welcome and I'm glad it all worked out:), pm me about how that Green Tea spray is working for you. I currently have it in my hair product shelf and I haven't used it yet because I have a Chi but I am curious.
