THAT IS VERY PRETTY:) , I'M GONNA TRY THIS SOMETIME. THOUGH I'M PRETTY SURE IT WONT COME OUT LOOKING GOOD AS YOURS, BUT I'LL STILL TRY

Very Pretty! Luv the look. I guess I am gonna have to get some twist lessons from somewhere unless you have a a nice tutorial? I will check out the rest of your Fotki, you may have it in there already. Thanks for sharing a new look!

Your hair is beautiful!:)

Too cute!! Did you do flat twists or plaits like you do on a little girl??

ETA. How many of whatever kind of twists did you use?

I like that, very pretty. I thinking about this for my summer do.

This is sooo darn pretty! Are you twisting two pieces of hair together or are you grabbing a piece and twisting it? Also, are you putting anything on the ends to hold the twist or does it just stay with out untwisting? TIA

Thanks ladies for all of the compliments! J

Unfortunately, I didn’t put a tutorial in my fotki or pics of my hair while it was twisted. I probably should have but I was on the go most of yesterday. I’m sure I’ll do the style again soon, when I do I will include step-by-step pics. In the mean time, I can try to give step-by-step instructions without the pics.

  • Wash with Design Essentials Moisture Retention Conditioning Shampoo
  • ApHogee Damaged Hair Treatment
  • Deep condition with D.E. Stimulations Super Moisturizing Conditioner, mixed with some EVOO and coconut oil.
  • Light rinse with Paul Mitchell’s The Detangler conditioner
  • Products used on wet hair- Paul Mitchell’s The Conditioner (leave-in), coconut oil, Tigi Bed Head Control Freak (to fight the frizzies).
  • Parted my hair in sections and applied a small amount of PM Wax Works (to hold the curl without making my hair feel hard), KeraCare Headress Crème, and a little more coconut oil to each big section.
  • Parted each big section into half-inch sections, divided each half-inch section in two and twisted the two strands together (as tight as possible), similar to plaits (they were not flat-twists to the scalp, I haven’t learned how to do that).
  • I then placed small (un- steamed) Caruso steam rollers to the very bottom of each section. I do this to hold the twist together, however I only leave them on for about 15 minutes or so b/c I don’t want the ends to be super curled or dry to the roller, I just want them to give a small curl at the very bottom of the twist and keep them from unraveling. (I’d imagine you could use any type of small roller to do this, the Carusos just happen to be what I use since I don’t have any other small rollers.) You could also probably use rubber bands, I don’t like them though b/c they pull out my hair. Or if you do bigger twists, you could probably Bantu knot them.
  • I usually let mine air dry. I finished them around 10 a.m. yesterday and started taking them out around 7 p.m., but they were still a little damp so I didn’t take the rest out until about 10 p.m. You could also sit under the dryer.
  • Last, I put in a little DE Silk Essentials for added shine.
  • At night, I flip my hair up on top of my head, twist it around and secure with a long silver clip. I then throw on my satin bonnet and in the morning the twists are still in place. Spritz on a little DE Silkening Spray or rub on Silk Essentials, maybe a little coconut oil for shine and moisture, and I’m out the door. It’s really quite simple.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Your twists look great. I think I'm starting to like the definition of twistouts more than braidouts.
