Is this possible?

Last three days ago my sister relaxed her hair. She just told me that her scalp has been itching since..She has scratched so much that there is breakage to the scalp in a few places. She is thinking it is the relaxer because that is the last thing that was done.

I was wondering if this was possible and has anyone ever went thru this.

BTW She has been using the same relaxer for a long time.

You can build up an allergic reaction to anything if you use it often. I had the same issue a few times when I use to relax. It was one of many reasons I decided to go natural.

See if she can maybe do a deep conditioning and light shampoo or cowash to help.

I may also suggest she use an oil like jojoba or coconut on her scalp see if it helps.

Let's see what the relaxer experts come in and recommend.

You can be allergic to practically anything, even though the risk of some are slight (hypo-allergenic).

I am hoping all the relaxer was washed out, that could also be a cause. You'd be suprised how many stylist don't Neutralize correctly. :( they are trying so hard to be fast or have short cuts they don't do things properly. I'd try to have her neutralize her hair again, and rinse with a ACV to make sure all is neutral.

Then apply a hair rebuilder or reconstructor & DC as soon as possible. Sorry for your sister!

She is so miserable right now..

She used almost have the bottle of neutralizer shampoo...

My concern is that if she waited and I am not sure if she shampoo'd the same day or waited the 3 days but that would be 3 days of left over relaxer/relaxer residue left in her hair and would have irritated the scalp something aweful and ate away at the hair :(. That would be the only thing she could really do is clean it and treat it as a chemical burn. Which might be cause to see the dermatologist or Doctor. ( I took Breakage to the Scalp as sores and bruises I am exhausted so I might be reading to deeply into it)
