On Friday, I pre-pooed, shampooed, DC'd and trimmed.

I don't feel I trimmed enough so I'm going to do a pre-poo (avocado, olive oil in a blender on the head for an hour or so), shampoo (queen helene garlic shampoo), and a cholesterol treatment w/ no heat.

Based on the threads I've been reading about breakage and split ends, I still don't know whether I need moisture or protein, and whether I have breakage or split ends. I'm also going to trim again.

Is that too much? Considering it's only been three days?

When I first joined LHCF, I started doing prepoos, shampoos, and deep treatments every other day. Was it much? Yes. It took too much time and there was no way on Gd's green earth I'd be able to keep up with that kind of routine. I'd also worry about overconditioning but that's a whole 'nother kettle of worms.

If you feel you need another trim than go ahead and trim. You don't need to go through a lot of motions to do so. If you feel your hair needs these extra pre-poos and deep conditioners than by all means do so. Otherwise, you might be manipulating too much and that will eventually lead to frustration.

Have you read Sistaslick's Hair Breakage 101 thread? It's stickied at the top of this board. It contains detailed information on how to determine if your hair needs more moisture or protein. HTH!

Thanks ladies. I'm typing this with my avocado/olive oil/egg/ blended mixture on my head w/ a plastic baggie covering it.

I don't know. Maybe I'll peruse the breakage thread one mo' gain and see what's going on

Ok, based on what I've read so far in the breakage thread...I am shedding and have breakage. I'll read further to find out what to do about both.

I didn't trim though. I left the cholesterol in a long time, and by the time I rinsed it out, I only felt like moisturizing, sealing, and putting my bantu knots in.
