Below is a link to pics of my good friend's hair. She's been natural for about 3-4 years after growing out her perm. Her hair is lightly pressed in the pics with some highlight that she's in the process of growing out. She is about a 3c hair type and wears her hair in a bun 97% of the time. She gets her hair straightened about twice a year. She's not a member of the forum, but she's one of the few people that I've told about the website and she's very supportive of my hair goals. I need to learn how to perfect these buns and I would realize this as well! After 3 years of growing out my last relaxer which I did after being natural for like 9 years I am NO WHERE near her length. But it is nice to see inspiring photos.

That's so true. You couldn't get more simple than her regimen--and no special vitamins either .

What length did she start with when you met her? How often does she wash her hair?

I wish I could get my hair in a bun! It's too thick and my front is too short.

She hardly ever wears her hair down, but when I met her she could make to pocahantas (sp?) type plaits that were just past her shoulders. As far as hair washing, I think about every 2-3 weeks depending on how busy she is.

In its natural state, her hair is shoulder length. When she was making her appointment to get it straightened we joke about whether she would get charged for shoulder length hair (when natural) or longer hair.
