So, after seeing Ms Jetsetter's results with the Silicon Mix, I decided I just had to have it. After waiting days for Sickbay to restock, I finally got to order. Had to get it in the 2 lb jar, though. if I had known it was the most awesome product ever, I'd have bought 8 jars, lol.

I applied my Clear Sebastian's rinse, first. Good product, I like it. Gives awesome shine and my hair felt very strong. I'll probably get a colored one when I use this up. It was a little stripping though, so that's where the Silicon Mix came in at. (Anky and I did a product swap yesterday and I was hard pressed trying to see if I wanted to use one of the products she gave me or if I wanted to do the Silicon Mix. :( )I put it on and sat underneath the dryer for about 8 minutes and even though I felt like my brain was being fried, I wanted to eat my hair because it smelled soooo good.

I rinsed the product out, along with Ms Key 10 en 1 rinse, which also smelled great and detangled superbly. (Thanks Anky! I'm going to get some of that.) I probably didn't need to use the 10 en 1, but it didn't hurt. Rollerset my hair last night and woke up to the shiniest, bounciest hair/curls I've ever had. My hair was blingin, ya'll.

Everyone at church complimented me on the sheen and how pretty my hair was, and I didn't even wear it down! This is a good product. On the jar, it says that it restores health, strength, and shine. I can honestly say this product does what it claims. I recommend it, and if you don't like it, sell that *edited* to me. When I get the Sedal anti-sponge leave-in, ya'll can't tell me nothing, ya hear? (You can get that on Sickbay too, under Sedal.)

I have new pics in my album, including the ones related to my fantabulous hair experience. Check it out, and I'll be adding other pics later on (non hair related).

It's the only place I know of. I know some ladies got it in their hometowns, but here in New Orleans it's hard to find. So I get it online.

Hot crap on a stick! I knew I should've grabbed this when I was in Florida, it was right in front of me and I knew of good reviews:mad: , to sickbay I go perhaps...

Looks great!!! What is the anti-sponge good for...frizz?

Thanks, Seni! Yeah, it's supposed to be so good that it could be a million degrees outside and your hair still stays "BAM!" instead of "Oh damn!" because you know how humidity is...Personally, if this product can keep my hair from bushing out in this New Orleans heat, you KNOW it's some good stuff.

Which company makes this product? Is it available in Canada? Bonjour.

I think the company is called Rivas Laboratorios. Since it's Dominican based, I'm not quite sure how common that is in Canada. :( Sorry I can't be of more help where locations are concerned.

STARIAN, PLEASE READ. WHAT I GAVE YOU WAS NOT MISS KEY 10 EN 1 RINSE.

It was Ultra Sheen Super Setting Lotion. You're supposed to dilute that with equal parts of water and put it in a spray bottle I am sooo sorry that I forgot to label all that junk I gave you. I feel so um... weird.:look: Call me and I will tell you what everything is.

Happy to know that you like the Silicon Mix. And thank you for being so generous with it-- I have a lot. I have it in my hair right now and I'm about to hop under the dryer. Thanks. HTH.

Hi, back from rinsing Rivas Silicon Mix from my hair. Most of you will burn me at the stake after I post this.

It was ok. It didn't wow me like Miss Key 10 en 1 or the Dominican Mix I got in PR. In fact, it very much reminded me of Pantene R&N Conditioner. The smell is familiar but it's not fruity/tropical. It probably would have given me more slip if I did it in sections, as I am about 11 weeks post relaxer. I'll mix it with my oils and see if that will make a difference.

I just bought some Silicone Mix and I cant wait to get home and use it.

OT Crml Butterfly your kids in your signature are just adorable!!!!!!

starian your hair is beautiful. I cant believe ive never tried dominican products before cuz i live in a heavily populated pr/dominican city. i just may try this on my hair too. :)

Ladies, I just check out www.sickbay.biz and there are 2 possible items listed that yall are talking about:

1. Rivas Silicon Mix Capilar Treatment
2. Rivas Silicon Mix Intense Leave In Shine and Conditioner

Which one are you guys using? Also, PLEASE list the ingredients as sickbay does not. TIA

Man I hope when I use this stuff it works just as well as it did for you and misjetsetter! I need some nourishment and tlc. This hot Cali weather is not working for keeping moisture in my strands.

Oooops. I feel kinda "Cher-ish" (clueless) right now. :( Ah well, no matter. I prolly should have asked you before I used it. :)

Bumping for Starian...

As usual, your hair looks thick, shiny, and healthy!!!

This is one of the conditioners my hairdresser uses...I'm gonna have to see if I can find it in the BSS. Also, did you use this conditioner immediately after your rinse? I'm getting my rinse done saturday and I wanted to follow with a good conditioner. TIA

I believe everyone is using #1 Neroli (even though #2 is out of stock also!). Everyone mentions rinsing it from the hair and #2 is a leave in, so my pick is #1.

I know how you can get rid of the rest of that silicon mix

I saw this in my local BSS just now. They have the 8 oz. jar for $4.99 and the 16 oz. jar for $7.99. It's sad that this is what I did on my lunch hour :ohwell:, but I knew that I had seen it before. I found it at RAMA Beauty Supply on Amsterdam between 105th and 106th streets.
