So I'm in the mall in Myrtle Beach today since my family decided to vacation on the beach this year. And while I'm in the mall, this lady who has a booth set up in the center aisle, drags me over to her and sits me down on a stool and asks me if I had ever heard of Ceramic Technology. I applied yes and I see that there is a flat iron on the counter. She tells me that she's about to do something to my hair that no other flat iron can do...and that was to NOT damage it.
Me being the smart alleck that I am, I promptly told her that if she was using any type of heat on my hair, she was doing damage to it. She said, "No! No! With the ISO Flat Iron, our plates are made of 100% ceramic." Which she explained that it meant that it's basically crushed stone and the problem with other flat irons and heating appliances was that it used a technology that dried out all of the moisture in your hair, making it brittle and more prone to breakage.
She said that the ISO flat iron did none of this and she flat ironed a few sections of my hair. She tried to convince me that it only left my hair straight, shiny, and with a silky feeling. I'm convinced my hair felt this way because it needed to be washed...
Anyways, she asks me what kind of flat iron I use and I told her that I JUST purchased a Sedu and I have tried CHI which I kinda liked a bit better than the Sedu. She told me that the CHI is only ceramic-plated and if you were to look inside the box, it even says so.
She also mentioned that she was from Europe and decided to come to the States to do promotions over here because back in Europe, the ISO Hair straightener is the best selling flat iron over there and is a HUGE hit. She said that it retails for over $200 but they were selling it here for under $100. I told her no because I just bought a flat iron for over $130 and my daddy would kill me if I bought another one. She even tried to give me another $10 discount.
I don't know what to make of it. I thought heat is heat is heat...so wouldn't that flat iron still damage my hair? And has anyone ever heard of this flat iron and used it? Is it really revolutionary??
