TRANSITION OVER! 11-22-14
I'm just so happy about my hair right now, even though I haven't reached my goal of flat twisting yet. Anyway, I've decided that even if I can't do any protective styles, I'll be doing a wash n go all winter. Can any naturals give me tips on how they do this without getting sick? I hope to BC in November or early December. Long transitions are just not for me because I get stir crazy trying to blend the two textures.:spinning: It will be the longest that I've ever transitioned, so it is a victory for me when I do my BC.

I washed and go all winter, but I drive to work. I wash and put the products in my hair and then put a towel over my hair while I get dressed, then I blast the heat in my car almost all the way to work. Thats how I got throught the winter and never got sick well not with a head cold or bad cold. I usually get bad colds around this time. I won't be doing it this year, my hair has gotten longer and it takes longer to dry and I will be keeping my hair in buns.

great question. i hope someone can say yes! b/c i can't imagine diffusing my hair every day after my co-wash. mad work. lol.

I'd like to know too. I'm not natural but I can't imagine doing a wash and go all winter long especially if you live in a colder climate.

I prep my hair like a wash and go and then sit under a hooded dryer at night and spritz a curl spray in the morning

I did a wash n go all last year with no problems. I live in Cali though so not sure if that makes a difference. I'm not natural now, i texlaxed a month ago, but I was last year at this time. I plan on co washing 3-5 days a week this winter as well.

Texlaxed and natural I Wash n Goed all year. :spinning:

IN THE MIDWEST.

I DID let my hooded dryer dry the roots and knock the dampness out of the ends for 5 min before walking around campus though. :look:

I don't have any strict rules or regimens for my hair. I just go with the flow. I wash and go during the winter, but I wouldn't do it necessarily everyday. I would give my hair at least a day or two to get fully dry before I did it again.

I most likely will. I have a new conditioner that is rubbing me the right way :look: . I don't think I can do without it! Besides, I have a part-time job and will be working at home for my other job.

Thank goodness for staying indoors. My co-worker is going to give me some cornrows (hopefully), so until it gets really cold (BIG LIE! It's going to be 29 degrees tonight here in Memphis!), I should have time to work out the particulars :yep:

I usually do this with no problem. I will be using a heavier moisturizer this year. i am going to use butters this year. I may try nappystorm's tip and sit under the dryer for a bit and then use some curl spray.

I am not natural but texlaxed. I do many wash n gos durning the winter. I do towel dry my hair to take alot of the water out before I apply my products. However, I drive to work every day and do not have a problem with being sick. I live in California and it does not get too cold, but it takes most of the day to dry, but I like having damp hair & my hair seems to thrive and grow in the winter.

I wash n go all winter!

I cowash or wash/condish in the shower.
Out of the shower add gel/hair lotion/oil and style as usual.
Sit under the dryer (dryer on low heat), eat breakfast and put on my make-up.
Well fed, looking good and ready to go!

:grin::grin::grin:

Not really. I diffuse after every co- wash. Takes about 10 minutes :)

ETA I live in the north and have an ionic diffuser. I can't imagine walking around with wet hair. Plus, when I do, my leave- ins show :(
