that conditioners with slip are more important to you? I used to not judge a conditioner based on the slip if I knew that it was a good product & doing something good for my hair. But now as my hair gets longer, I MUST have slip--otherwise the detangling challenge is just TOO big.

If I don't use a conditioner with slip, I at least have to finish off with one that has slip. My best slippers seem to be:

Pantene R&N
Elucence MB
Kenra Intensive Emollient

well...for myself at any length i have to have slip because if i hear one hair go "pop" i start worrying that i am breaking all of my hair

. I need it for peace of mind and the fact that my patience with detangling is about nil

Oh and

ION Finishing Detangler and Biolage Detangling Solution, but the ION is a much better buy( $3.99 as opposed to $10) and smells better too

YES YES YES!! I was thinking this the other day. the only thing that comes in handy for me now is the porosity control conditioner. It makes my hair that bit more manageable after a deep conditioning. I avoid a damp comb out by just putting my hair in a bun in the shower and leaving it like that.

I agree, the longer my hair gets, the more into slip I am. After LUST, its the one thing I really do look for. Hmm, I should try mixing the Porosity Control with it

If I use something that doesn't have slip, I have to follow-up with a conditioner that has it: Pantene, Lustrasilk, L'oreal Unfrizz Smoothing Treatment...

To be honest, I barely comb my hair. I just use my fingers. So slip is an important factor for my choice of conditioners.

Me too. I was just thinking about that yesterday as I was detangling my hair.

My daughter's hair is neck length and she can use any conditioner she wants and never have a problem detangling!!

My hair is a completely different story. If I use something that doesn't give slip, detangling can be a total nightmare!!

Yes indeed. If I don’t use my Giovanni smooth as silk as a rinse out I'm in trouble!

I need the slip especially when extending those touchups!

Girl, as long as you've been a member here, I thought you knew what slip was.

When I say LUST (please don't ask me what is LUST

)provides great slip, I mean it makes my hair so smooth and tangle free that the comb just glides right through my hair. If you do a search on +slip, you will come up with lots of information.

Yes, slip definitely becomes more important. I'm finding now as my hair gets closer to bra strap that even detangling in the shower is a bit tricky. Kind of awkward, you know? I don't know how you REALLY long haired ladies do it.

How DO you it???

It is tricky SBH. I know that Hairlove & Allandra too (I think)wash, condition, and detangle their hair in 2 sections. I've tried this & it does make it easier.

I will be doing that from now on. I've got all this new growth too so I think washing and detangling in sections will certainly help. Thanks.

I usually also detangle my hair in two sections. Sometimes I will also divide my hair in three or four sections to detangle it. Having a huge comb helps as well.

LOL , sorry Allandra...

I do know what LUST is.

I've heard slip alot and just assumed it meant something that "makes your hair slippery" I just wanted to be clear....

See I was wrong, kinda. I don't wanna search slip I'll get a bazillion posts LOL

I really need conditioners with slip because some sections of my hair's length is underprocessed which makes it difficult to comb when wet and leads to breakage.

I was wondering, does a conditioner with slip necessarily give moisture? Its just that I've started using LUST, and it seems to be more of an unfrizzing, silicone based conditioner, but I don't know how moisturising it really is. What do y'all think??
