Hey ladies.

I'm natural and want to flatiron my hair but I'm super scared of heat damage.

I was wondering does anyone know at what degree hair really burns straight? Is it in the 300 degrees, 400 degrees or 500 degrees or higer? I tried to search but didn't find anything on this topic (maybe i did not search correctly). If you know a link or any other resources, could you please provide the info for me TIA

This is a really good question.

Unfortunately, I think that it varies by individual-- though I'd love to know a general temperature range too.
