I'm interested in using henna. Where can I get it? and how do I use it on my hair? Also, can it be used on relaxed hair? TIA for the information.

Have you tried doing a search? There are several henna threads that will answer all of those questions.

Try the search feature and report back.

You can purchase Henna (also known as Mehendi and also comes in the Heenara form, which is infused with different herbs) at your local Indian, Bangladeshi, or some Asian groceries. They also have different forms of Henna at Whole Foods (I used to purchase from a brand called Rainbow Henna, which is henna infused with other herbs for enhanced hair color) or other Health food supermarkets. If Henna is still unavailable there are websites you can purchase it from for cheap, such as Amazon or Ebay. fromnaturewithlove also sells henna powder.

Search for the "do y'all henna" thread. Also, if you click on the manual in my siggy, it's in there as well.

Make sure you do a test on a section of your hair before you use it on your entire head. It can be very drying.

Forgot to mention this. Yes, henna can be used on relaxed hair. I have relaxed hair and I use henna. Seals and repairs the cuticle layer. Just make sure you wait at least 2 weeks before relaxing your hair after you do a henna application. I read that somewhere on this site. I guess this is as a precautionary measure.

P.S. I agree with CurlyMoo. Henna can be very drying. To offset the dryness you can add a bit of moisturizing conditioner to it.
