What? I'm just talking about hair! Seriously, I'm interested in getting feedback about hair that has never had a perm. I have a little friend(kid) with 4b hair. Her hair is currently very short and I believe that is due to it being very dry. What are the best ways to moisturize? Products and methods? She likes to have her hair in box braids so what kind of hair should she use for extensions until her own hair grows a bit more? Human? Synthetic?

I tried to do a search but found nothing so links to previous threads would be appreciated also.

TIA

I wore a relaxer before but I've been natural for about 6 years now. For moisturizing I love ORS olive oil lotion. Try kids organic shea butter moisturizer detangler for combing, this also moisturizes and you may not need the ORS. I personally like human hair braids because 1) they are lighter 2) the fake her damaged my natural hair by rubbing up against it. I think it depends on the individual. I would be sure not to get the braids too small and to take care of the edges so they don't thin out. I would also invest in a good braid spray to use while the braids are in. I forgot to mention that I blowdry my hair before putting in the braids, it holds moisture better that way and the hair doesn't stick out of the braid because of the differences in texture.

i was a natural up to 3 months ago. i was 4b with some COARSE hair. im talking brillo pad. the ONLY thing that softened my hair was s curl. it made such a difference. u can get the small bottle from target for about $2.00. HTH.
