Joico K-Pak Reconstructer
Joico K-Pak Daily Conditioner
Joico K-Pak Protect and Shine Serum
Joico K-Pak Leave-in Protectant
Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner
Keracare Silken Seal

Not Bad (but not so great)
Biolage Leave-in Tonic
L'Anza Urban Elements Leave-in (creamy)
Kenra Moisturizing Shampoo

Misses
Joico Intensive Moisturizer (not very moisturizing; in fact, I found both K-Pak Reconstructer and Daily Conditioner are more moisturizing!)

HITS:

Suave Coconut Conditioner (works like a dream for conditioner washes)

Hot Six Oil (I LOVE this stuff for sealing in moisture. It really does make the hair softer, shinier and it stays that way, what a find!)

MISSES:

Aussie Moist Conditioner (not as great as I thought it would be)

HITS
lanza protein plus shampoo (old formula)
lanza deep cleasing shampoo

MISSES
profectiv 3 in 1 phase oil- made my hair dry

HITS
CON moisturizing shampoo
Elasta QP Mango Butter
Peppermint oil

MISSES
Aussie Moist conditioner (not very moisturizing)

Hits:

John Freida's hair frizz serum, doesn't do much for frizz (maybe it's because of the high humidity here), but it's great for shine and softness. Gives your hair lots of slip.

Miss:

John Freida's hair straigtening cream for relaxed hair. Did absolutely nothing for my new growth or frizz! Also too heavy.

Hits

Lafier Honey and Almond Rinse. OMG!

A great leave-in and detangler. Maybe better than Elucence...

Daily Defense Tender Apple Conditioner (for cond washes). It works just like Pantene S&S on my hair.

Creme of Nature Nourishing Conditioner (very slippery; unfortunately it smells just like the shampoo

)

Misses

None!

I'm getting so much better at picking winners!

I have some new products but I haven't been able to try them out yet. My Septemeber list will be a lot longer.

Not Sure

Skala Milk Bath Conditioner. I'm not sure if it's a protein or moisturizing conditioner. I used it to soften my hair after a protein conditioner and my hair felt a little rough after rinsing.

Hits:

Aveda Anti-Humectanct (seals in moisture, is light, adds shine and helps with humidity; smells great too!)

Biolage Leave-in Tonic (detangles great, smells good, adds shine, noticed a little shedding - maybe due to protein?)

Misses:

Infusium 23 (too much shedding)

Hits:
Sebastian Moisture Base Conditioner
Salerm Vital
Nexxus Humectress (this one flip flops all the time!)
Nexxus Diametress Shampoo
Castillian Vanilla and Almond Butter Cream Conditioner
Castillian Vanilla Cream Leave In with Panthenol and Silk Protein
Castillian Banana Shampoo

A fun and informative post!

Tee, what did the Kenra Moisturizing Shampoo lack? I noted your lukewarm comment about it. Funny, because I was considering purchasing a bottle. I would be interested in hearing more.

Okay, here my "Hits" and "Misses" for August 2003:

Hits:

Joico K-Pak Reconstructor
Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner
Pantene Pro-V Relaxed and Natural Wrap and Set Lotion

The Jury is still out:
*Pantene Pro-V Oil Cream Moisturizer - I like it; gave my hair needed moisture. However, I am in the process of trying out some new products I ordered and recently received from Hairobics.
*Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayonnaise - used it only once; hair felt very good.

Misses:
*Farouk Silk Therapy - great shine; high alcohol content, and therefore not very moisturizing, IMO
*Aveda Phomollient - left my hair crispy after my roller set
*L'oreal Naturals Organic Hot Oil Treatment - my hair simply did not respond to it
*Organic Root Stimulator Maximum Shine Hair and Scalp Moisturizer - I thought it would be more moisturizing; the shine aspect, however, holds true

I will report on the Hairobics products for the September "Hits and Misses!"

Thanks, Supergirl for your feedback.

I think I will purchase a bottle when I go to the mall tomorrow. If it does not work for me, I will use it to wash pantyhose (hee hee)!

*Aubrey Organics GPB (once a month protein conditions, alternate with Aphogee)
*Elasta QP DPR-11 (deep conditions)

I'm glad Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom is working for you. It's my all time favorite moisturizer.

Hey Allandra!

I was very pleasantly surprised at how soft it made my hair!! It lasted for more than one day too, and didn't leave my hair greasy at all. Definitely a keeper!
