For the first 8 months of being fully natural, I probably wore my hair in a puff or headband daily.

I'm noticing now, that I have length, that the edges are shorter. It looks like although I tried to buy the safest accessories, that I've done some damage.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I wish someone had told me to take that puff down. lol though I absolutely love my puff and how it has grown up.

Yes this happened to me too.Using a ring clip.Kept is loose.Broke my crown bad.
Growing back.No more ring clips for me

Now that I have some hang time, I think I need to wear it completely loose and free now. I'm considering doing some two strand twists soon.

I actually look like I have traction alopecia from years of wearing those hard headbands with the combs in them. I didn't notice it until I started my HHJ and parted my hair to see what was going on in that section. I'm hoping to completely regrow then before the year is out.

Everyday I just do two little twists of my hair and pin them.I am currently SL the the twist are not massive. It is so quick and easy.I also feel good that my hair is happy under there:grin:

I wear my hair out everyday.

Have fun. I like enjoying my hair. You can retain length, save your strands from stress, and hopefully not have the intense hand in fro disease I suffer from. LOL

remember the banana comb? pulled & hurt while pinching my
nape!
last relaxer, over relaxed my edges....?
wig cap & head band 24/7 edges left..... slowly coming back
could have been the reg relaxer? only the edges fell out

I've experienced this as well. As my TWA grew I grew less impressed with the way it looked without something to slice it up. I used elastic headbands, some with flowers on them, to make myself feel better. And caused breakage in my front patch. The only reason Im not upset is because the breakage has left behind some gorgeous curls in its place as opposed to the straightish wavy hair that was there before. However I don't use the headbands as much anymore
