AWWW..DONT GIVE UP. MAYBE YOU JUST NEED TO CHANGE YOUR REGIMEN...USE LESS OR MORE OF SOMETHING. BUT WHATEVER YOU DO DONT GIVE UP.
EVERYONE'S HAIR GROWS ON ITS OWN TIME...GIVE IT TIME TO GROW. IT LOOKS HEALTHY..WHICH SHOULD ALWAYS BE THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR WHEN IT COMES TO HAIRCARE

I see growth. You may see it more if you put on the same shirt as in your first pic. Over 12 weeks (3 months), the average growth rate would give you an inch and a half. You should really give it a year, then decide if its worth it. What is your regimen if you don't mind me asking? and what is your hair goal? A little patience and a bit of insight and you may just as well be on your way. Don't quit. What do you have to lose?

I can't see your pics, but I doubt it is possible to have no growth over 12 weeks. Your hair has to have grown, even a little bit, right?

Sometimes it takes awhile for your hair to reap the benefits of a new and improved hair care regimen. I knew before I came here that I had damaged some of my hair to no end (pre-LHCF hair) and that, other than cutting it all off to start again, it may take awhile for me to see a complete turnaround.

I believe all is not lost. :) What are you currently doing to take care of your hair?

It might not feel like it but I can see a lot of difference in those pictures. Don't give up.

I think your hair is really pretty. We are about the same length but mine doesn't look nearly as nice.

Hell girl, if I can kinda do it you can do it. :bighug:

Aw stay here with us. You knew it wasnt going to be easy when you started. There is so much to learn here you are being way to hard on yourself. You have so many oppotunities in front of you dont give up.:nono:

Bye :wavey:

Kidding-ish. I see growth, I think your hair looks nice
12 weeks really isn't that long, what sort of results were you expecting? With consistency and patience the results from the women here have been excellent.

You prob just have to get your routine down!

If your hair is all the things u described--you may not see all the growth you could if it was healthy. (breaking , dry, alot of shedding/breakage etc...)

Focus on getting the probs you described more under control and you will see results:yep: (i know--easier said than done---but you can do it!!)

Took me awhile to see the length---but I had to get my hair healthy first.

Oh, and less is more. (just had to add that--that is my motto)

Actually your hair looks very healthy to me. Alot of people are shedding right now. "season change" just think you can be almost APL by July....just stop worrying about your hair. It will come.

Dont give up, it might be something in your regie.

PSA ---results may vary, everything AINT for everybody!!!

HAPPY HAIR GROWING, it WILL work itself out.

I wash and deep condition weekly. I dont use to much protein because of my dryness. I just relaxed it today. but i did a clarify and a 2min reconstructor a few days before. I dont use heat. I rollerset. I just dont understand. its to short to put in a ponytail. braids and weaves tend to itch really bad or began to stink so i never keep them in long. My goal is full shoulder length thats all i want. I am so frustrated. All i want is nice hair. I am trying I promise I am.

12 weeks really isn't that long. I do see a slight difference. Be patient the growth will eventually come. (((hugs))) Trust me I know it can be a bit discouraging at times but hang in there.

:lachen::lachen::lachen: i was like is she really just gonna send this poor girl off like that..lol

I see growth, and I agree that it is shedding season. I have hair falling out all over the place. Your hair looks thick and healthy...not dry at all. Just keep it up, it's a slow process most of the time, but you'll get there.

you hair looks great girl you trippin.

Thanx guys..but it just doesnt seem to be doing what it is supposed to do. I can afford expensive products or appliances. I dont know.

Your hair looks to be in extremely good condition, very healthy and shiny.

Did a stylist do your touch up and did she trim?

Actually your hair looks pretty healthy. It looks like going forward you should start to see some length. If you give up now, you will never know.

I know it can get a little frustrating watching everyone else and seeing their progress but it takes patience. There is a thread where some people have not seen a lot of progress over the years but they are still hanging in there.

Double check all of the products you use to make sure you are not getting protein overload as there are so many different types of protein. Make sure you are taking a multivitamin and you have a good iron count. Low iron equals hair shedding.

HTH and HHG

i'm sorry you feel this way. everyone gets discouraged and frustrated about something in life. but you can't quit when the going gets tough. also, if you're stretching, you may not see a difference until you relax again. ever heard of the saying that it's darkest before dawn? maybe your dawn is around the corner. but you'll never know if you QUIT. (I dont think you really want to quit, or else you would have just done it, and not opened a thread about it)

plus- (and you opened the door for this)- when did taking good care of yourself ever become a waste of time?? growth or no growth, it's worth it to take good care of yourself.

suggestions- streamline your regimen, don't watch the simmering pot, and be thankful for the hair you have. you could be bald. remember- "can't never did anything". so change it up.

i'm sending you some positive vibes. try positive thinking "I am blessed, I have no stress, and so grows my tress(es)" lol.

hang in there :yep:

It sounds like you're on the right track and I was going to mention that it was shedding season too. I can't use any protein unless its right around my relaxer. Plus, stretching my relaxer has really helped and you've already mastered that. Washing and deep conditioning is the biggest hair secret on the board alone with finding a good moisturizer to use daily and I see you are using the mango butter. A lot of people rave about that one but I needed something a little heavier. In one year, you should produce about 6 inches (without any major setbacks or too many trims). If you've only gotten an inch you are already closer to your goal and if you get the same progress over the next 12 weeks that's even better. I'd say - keep up the excellent work! You've mastered, learned, and utilized some things and techniques it took me 2 years to put into effect. Way to go!!! :yay:

This is all I got in 1 year and I don't think its much, but if I can do it again by the end of next year I'm happy!
1yearcomparison-vi.jpg

I didn't see my progress until I made this. (I've gotten a trim to take care of those ends since the pic was taken.

I have to figure out how to put this in my siggy.

your right im being a brat ...im jus aggrvated i think am just going to try to leave my hair alone as much as possible. and just do the basics

ETA: I felt a backlash coming on after reading my post so I cleaned it up... :look:

... Your hair is fine. 12 weeks of growth is about an inch and a half give or take. What I see in the pictures is about that amount. If your hair is in a bob it isn't going to grow down your neck after 12 weeks. It changed shape and all of it is practically the same length and looks less layered now. It doesn't look dry or anything, and as far as the shedding goes... EVERYONE sheds! It is 100% natural. In fact, I shed more during this time of year because of the weather.

No offense (seriously) but there is nothing wrong with your hair.

Enough with the pity party your hair is fine. Did you expect 3 inches or something? 12 weeks of growth is about an inch and a half give or take. What I see in the pictures is about that amount. Obviously if your hairis in a bob it isn't going to magically be APL overnight or grow down your neck after 12 weeks. It changed shape and all of it is practically the same length and looks less layered now. It doesn't look dry or anything, and as far as the shedding goes... EVERYONE sheds! It is 100% natural. Sometimes I think people on this site are crazy to think that they can keep every single piece of hair on their head indefinitely, knowing damn well its got to come out at some point.

No offense (seriously) but it seems like you're just fishing for compliments. There is nothing wrong with your hair.

Im really not trust me i would have been the first one to compliment myself, I just wish you guys could see is up close. But, anyways so am i not seeing growth because its not one length?? I didnt realized that mattered

I felt guilty and edited my last post lol...

Anyway, the thing I wanted to emphasize was this:

Bobs usually grow different from hair that is past SL or APL. You will notice it is growing when your hair changes shape. Like at first it would be like a really close cut, then after a while it would grow into a bowl shape... then after a while you would realize your hair was less bowl shaped and started hanging downward more instead of going out like a skirt or something. That is the only way I knew my bob was growing in high school, and LITERALLY, the next thing I knew I was shoulder length, and hadn't even seen it coming. Your hair just kind of expands for a while before it falls after that... and since your hair is thick and healthy, it seems to be holding up pretty well and filling out before it shows much of a change in length.

Its ok:yawn: im not that sensative. but I guess i didnt think of it in the way you discribed it. I guess it makes sense. and since i want thickness maybe i should just focus on that and forget about length for awhile....no more rants from me...i will just suck it up from now on

Your hair is always growing. Have you kept track of the length in inches, rather than by pictures? Have you noticed a difference in thickness and overall HEALTH of your hair?

There is not a miracle drug for rapid hair growth (at least nothing that I am aware of..:perplexed). This means you have to be patient...even during those MONTHS when you don't seem to see any difference. If you give up now, do you think it will help your hair, or hurt it?

My hair grows slower than average too, so we 'gots to stick together'...lol.
