Can I correct a lye relaxer with a no lye?

Last week I cut off a couple of inches off my colored ends. A lot of it is gone but in some places I still have about an inch or so of colored hair (I guess that's due hair growing at different rate). I've noticed some areas have been really frizzy lately and doesn't stand up to humidity, particulary the part's that have the least amount of color. I couldn't understand that cause that part should be the healthiest but it looking the most damaged.
At first I thought it was my trimming technique or maybe my scissors weren't sharp enough and caused more frizz, but the frizz is not just at the end, it goes up to almost the root. As I obssessed over it today I realize that the frizz and revertion is probably due to my hair being texlaxed.

I've been texlaxing since November with Hawaiian Silky Lye but wanted my hair straighter because it was seeming like I needed a relaxer every five weeks and my edges would look nappy at 3 weeks. Last touch up I used the no lye and it came out much straighter yet it was still texlaxed.

Soooo.... My question is, would it be ok for me to do a corrective relaxer with the no lye going over the lye? TIA

I tried to do this same thing. I don't know if you will ever be able to make the lye relaxed hair bone straight. I used a lye relaxer for about a year. I experienced breakage at the line of demarcation. I used a no lye over it. My hair is in much better shape but the lye relaxed hair still has more texture than the hair that was just relaxed with no lye.

I decided to go ahead and do it. I roughly seperated my hair with my fingers and slabbed on the relaxer as if it was conditioner. Since I retouched 2 weeks ago I started at about an inch from my scalp. Then I combed through using a wide tooth comb then a rat tail comb to get all the strands. It was on for about 5 minutes if that. I liked the results. The one part that was really giving me trouble came out so much smoother, still with a lot of texture though. All I want is for it to lay on the roller smoothly, dry smoothly when I wet set, and not revert in humidity. My rollerset held up alot better today than it has since my cut so I'm satisfied.
