Jada,

Thanks for sharing!

I'm sure the members here who follow Cathy's regime closely, and may have been looking for a moisturizer that fit into her plan, will be grateful.

It sounds just like my body butter. I hope it doesn't have that same consistency.

I had ordered the UBH conditioner and Dew,used them and was not particularly excited about either until I tried using Dew differently. After washing and conditioning with other products but not using a moisturizer, I noticed my hair dried really dry and yucky. I hot curl once a week for church and today was the day. For whatever reason, I decided to spray each section of hair with Dew and apply the iron. Boy was I impressed with my results. My hair appeared moisturized, silky and full of body! I kept my style all day, even in the humidity of Florida. It was overcast all day today and I kept checking the mirror to make sure I did not need to whip out a scrunchie, but my hair was perfect! I will be a loyal user of this product. Anyone else have this experience?

I used to use the Dew to flat iron but it made my hair too soft. When my hair gets too soft, it will not hold a curl. I now use a thermal styling product suggested by Allandra. I use the Conditioner based upon her recipe.

Bett1e, what 'cha using? I love the Dew and the only thing I don't like is the price and having to order it. If you know of something good that can be purchased in a store and cheaper, I would like to know about it... thanks!

Mindymouse, I believe that is another form of alcohol. [ QUOTE ]

I like Howse's advice and products but purposely did not get addicted to her products because they cost too much. My sustitute to flat iron is New Image Damage Free. It is 99 cents at Sally's Beauty Supply.

For everyday moisturizing, I spray on Better Braids moisturizing spray. This product does the same thing to my hair as the Dew.

The new moisturizer isn't even out yet, but I'm wondering if there is a substitute for that...can anyone think of anything? I'll still give this stuff a try though....

I've tried almost all the products and, either they sit on my hair and make it feel nasty or I start itching profusely.

I'm using the Profectiv Break Free right now as we speak. I like it because it makes my natural SOFT but i do notice that it does leave a film on the hair. After i'm done with this I think I'll try that Hot Six Oil (LMAO i almost wrote Hot Sex Oil

) I hear it's cheaper and your hair really absorbs it. The Healthy Ends cream is too thick and for some reason makes my ends DRY!!!

I never used it with hot curls, just as a moisturizer, but in her book she says that's what she does and it comes out like you said, smooth, silky and bouncy. I supposed I should try it.

Mindymouse, it's actually stearyl acohol. Here is the link if your interested.

Thanks, Moisy. I wonder if it's drying I usually cringe at the very sound of alchol, but so does she so I'm sure it's ok.

But what is her problem charghing $2 for a spayer pump? I will be politely swaping one from another bottle I have (hope it fits) I know I'm being kinda cheapo ...

Even though I tried her other products sight unseen and love them, I'll wait to here what people think of the Lotion before I order.

There are tons of lotion moisturizers out there, I guess it's a matter of finding what works for you. Just make sure the ingredients are compatible with your other products. I think what I like about the dew for my hair is that other things (sprays) had oil in them or protien or something that made it soft initially but then dried it out.

Plus I found out that even though two products have the same indredients, how much and how little make a difference, like making cake we could use the same ingredients yours might have 2 cups of sugar, mine I might use 6 so just because the both use sugar, there's a big difference.

it seems like the ingredients for the creme are similar to dew but with some olive oil, the ingredients that are different are the chemicals ( i.e.emulsifier, etc). I made my own creme leave in a couple of days ago before I heard about this. I mixed vo5 strawbery and creme with some olive oil and dew and I put it in a spray bottle. I'll stick to mine and see what happens, so far my hair is responding well.

UBH creme ingredients:
Purified Water , Olive Oil, 1-Octadecanol, Cetrimonium Bromide,
dl-Panthenol, Allantoin, Lecithin, Dimethicone Copolyol , Methylparaben , Diazolidinyl Urea, Propylparaben , Retinol, Tocopherol.

dew ingredients:

Purified Water , Propylene Glycol, Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone , Polysorbate-20, Coconut Oil, Lanolin, Methylparaben , Fragrance, Propylparaben, FD&C Yellow No. 6. FD&C Yellow No.5.

I wasn't clear that's what she said she was doing; wasn't sure if she sprayed it on and let it dry; anyway, spraying and curling immediately works great.
