I finally got my hair braided. This is the first time I've had my hair braided (outside of cornrows) in almost 4 years. My daddy hooked me up with the cash. They only took 6 hours. Check them out... They're Goddess Braids in 1b with a little 27 (blonde) mixed in There's more pics in my fotki.

They look really good. I wish I could get braids but this big *** forehead that I have doesn't allow me to.:look:

they are SO cute! If you don't mind me asking do you have a regimen already in mind for them? If so, do you mind posting it? I would love to get braids next month, leaning towards pixie braids, but now since seeing yours goddess braids are on the list.

tia,

Thanks Ladies! Tishee, I'm actually on here looking for a regimen now. I have some braid sprays and oils in my storage bin from college so I guess I'll be using those. I need to figure out what to do about washing though. I'm gonna shoot for 3 months with these braids but knowing me I'll probably take them out after 2 months.

They look really nice. I have my hair in Senegalese twists also, I had them done last week and I love them.

Your braids are beautiful! I love braids, they're the greatest style in terms of eliminating manipulation. Braids are the best way to keep my hands out of my hair! I just got mine back last Tuesday, in fact!

Girl, you can do 3 months!!! Everytime you get sick of them, just THINK of all the amazing new growth you are going to have..... how long and silky your hair will look when you take those suckers out and get that touch-up. Girl, let that be your motivation to keep them in!

Dang, I wish I could get some braids. They look so cute. I am extremely tender-headed. It hurts to just to PART my hair. Sigh...I can admire them, though!

Thanks! That's the weird part because they didn't hurt at all when she did them! I went to that shop because my little cousin got hers done a few weeks ago and she said they didn't hurt at all. Even when she was done and I tried to pull them up they didn't hurt. One or two in thre front around my edges hurt when she put it in but that was it. My hairs real short right there. I remember when I was a kid I used to get braids a lot and I would cringe everytime they started one in my head because it hurt. And I would have to leave them down for a few days because my scalp would be sore when I tried to pull them up or something. I guess the African shops have gotten it under control because when they got popular here a few years back I remember people complaining about their hair being pulled out and saying to take a few aspirins before you went so it wouldn't hurt so bad. I was concerned with them braiding too tight and pulling my hair out. Last time I had braids almost 4 years ago I had a lot of breakage and had to cut all my hair off. I'll definitely be going back to them.

Oh yeah, and what loser gave my thread 1 star? Get a life...

Those are really cute. Braids are my favorite protective style but I can't find anyone to do them right out here in Colorado :(.
