It's time to celebrate!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! It's time for roll call for everyone who made it to the end of the stretch.

I for one am pleased with my progress, and I'm proud of myself for hanging in there when times got rough. I have an appt. to get a relaxer on Wednesday, but I'm not dying for a relaxer the way I thought I'd be. CO washing was probably the best thing I could have done for my hair during this stretch...deep conditioning kept it moist & strong, and protective styles kept my ends safe. I'm VERY pleased, and I can't wait to transition to natural...maybe next year :look: Merry Early Christmas ladies!

Let's share success stories and stretching strategies!!! :look:

Yay!!!:bdance: Congratulations to us!!

I said it before and I will say it again. I wouldnt be able to stretch this way without braids. All I have to do is wash them once a week and moisturize them with my braid spray mixture. I think I could even go a little longer without a relaxer now....still thinking about it:look:

I couldn't have made it without conditioner, gel and all of the support from my fellow stretcherz!!!!!

YAY!!!!! I'm perming in 2days and straightning in one week......

I don't have to dream any more!!!!

This is my first challenge and I'm proud to say I survived:grin: !! I am almost 10 weeks post but I'm not relaxing until 12/21. Next time I'm shooting for 4 months:look: :look: . MSM has loosened my 4a/4b, and WGO, Breakfree and carrot oil have kept it moist and manageable.

I am marking off the days!!!!

Congrats ladies!...

I was going to wait until Dec 31st, but my sis puts my relaxers in and she has to do it on the 10th. And that's fine. I officially stretched for 17weeks on the 10th. One week longer than I have ever gone since I have been an adult. Thanks for starting this challenge DI, and I am like you, hopefully in the year or 2 to come, I will be transitioning to natural. I discovered this time around that my crown is mostly 4b, and I have some 3c at my nape and the rest is 4a...never noticed that before. It was a great challenge. I am also ending my no heat challenge that I had since August '05 also. HHG to y'all!

Congrats to all of us stretchers :yay:!!! I'm only seven weeks post and I plan on relaxing sometime during the week of 12/25. That will make 10 weeks. My hair is thicker, longer and stronger :D . CO washing twice a week and WGO has helped me control my NG along with helping increase my growth. I am so happy that I stretched:grin: . I can't go as long as the 3-4 month stretchers but I'll make it there some day. One step at a time.

The last time I stretched, it was for thirteen weeks and three days.
Little did I know I would make this stretch too.
I will try to wait until 01/23/2006 to relax this time though.
Since I got my flat iron I should be able to make it to late Jan w/ no problems. I never thought my hair would do well w/ stretching, but thanks to you ladies, I know I can do it. Thank you all.

CONGRATS to y'all that made it.!

I am at 10 weeks post relaxer and want to try to make it to the end of December. I plan on buying myself a flat iron.

Girl please! Thank you to all of these lovely ladies fo participating!!! I just needed a stretch buddy and ended up with a stretch posse! :lachen: I wanna hear about your progress to BSL...and since we're on the same track, we may end up transitioning together :look:

I learned a lot about my hair too. It's 4a almost everywhere with a hint of 4b at the nape and some -1A or some crap around my hair line and temples...it's bone straight and looks freshly relaxed ALL the time...I never need to smooth edges so I guess it's a plus, but most stylists like to put relaxer there when it ain't necessary. They always ask if I relax my edges in between touch ups but I don't, that hair just grows in incredibly straight and soft. :D

Congratulations Ladies!!!

I didn't stretch with you all since I was already transitioning, but I also noticed this about my hair. It looks like I have adult "baby hair" around my hairline. It's really noticeable when I wake up in the morning.

Even while I was still relaxing, I stopped relaxing my hair line and nape, because I was overprocessing it. I would have never discovered it if I hadn't stretch my relaxers.

Well, I made it and I am planning to go on. I shall be taking down my braids in February and touch March 4. But then I may just go ahead and do it in January for my birthday.

I put the braids in at the end of October and keep refreshing them one by one as I see them getting any build up aat the base. I do my edges every 2 weeks and will keep doing so until the end of February. So far every single b raid on my head has been retouched so I am not worried about keepin gthem in for this long a period.

I plan to continue in 2006 with Reneice's weave regimen.
