Greetings All

I've recently started riding a bike (scooter 250cc), and I love it. HOWEVER my hair the 1st few weeks my hair did not share my enthusiasm.

New Tip. Roll length of hair into Foam Curler(s).
Prosrotective Style, Comfortable and discreet under helmet, and lightweight.
Cons: So light you can forget you're wearing it.

I recently rode my bike to meet up with my SO. Before donning my helmet I put my BSL hair into a single (black) foam roller, which I slipped off before seeing him. I ran my fingers through the curl, smoohed down the crown, changed from boots to heels, and looked Classy for the evening.

Now the roller is part of my bike's "tool kit".

Has anyone else found any styling solutions for Chicks on Bikes?

I love to ride. I ride a GSXR 750 or should I say use to ride a 750. I don't get much time to ride. But the next time I am on my bike I will use this little trick! I use to wrap my hair in a silk scarf and then put on my helment. So as you can see this has been some time. lol Because I no longer wrap!

Today, I tried putting a hairnet over my rollerset. I like the curler better. I'm making myself ride to save on Gas. .....at least that was my excuse for purchasing the scoot.

Hi! I've been experiencing breakage around the temples and nape. My beautician suggested it's from wearing a helmet. (I live in San Francisco, and a scooter is an ideal form of transportation.) I have the helmet on about 30 minutes a day total, 5 days a week.

I also tend to "doobie" wrap my hair at night and sleep with a silk scarf. And I think my last few relaxers were left on too long. I've had burns along the hairline.

Anyone have opinions on this?

ITA with the bolded parts.

Also keep those areas "hydrated" moisturized. The padding in the helmet may be causing undue friction in these areas.

New tip for 2008: Try the silky rollers. They may be less drying to your hair.

Hmmm, Flat Twists, or a very low ponytail.
(Carry a hairnet, and conditioner spritz at all times)


**By the way, when I first posted this post as a "newbie" I thought BSL = Below Shoulder Length. I'm APL hoping to get to BSL. Ha!!!!!

I ride a nice bicycle (does that count?) and usually wear a scarf under my helmet, with my hair pinned up in the back. The last time, put my hair in a loose ponytail and pincurled the ends (4 pincurls) hair before putting on the scarf so I could easily remove all. I like your idea of using one roller.
