Hey Diva's,
I read an old thread from Pinkskates and incorporated coconut oil to my regimen. I'm seeing that some use cocunut milk. Is there any difference or which is better to use on 4a natural hair?
I use coconut milk as a conditioner. For example, if I detangle with oil then I use coconut milk to rinse the oil out. There are others who use it mixed with honey, oil, banana, and other ingredients as a conditioner/treatment.
I use coconut oil to "moisturize" my hair. For example, I use it on wet hair that I'm braiding up to go under a wig. Coconut oil is a great light oil to use for daily shine as well.
I think it just depends on your needs. It seems as if people use coconut oil more than coconut milk. Everyone has their different uses for the oil (moisturizing, sealing, pre-poo treatment). Search the old threads and you'll see all the different uses.
Both are excellent for conditioning hair. I use the oil to seal in moisture & occasionaly use it when creating homemade DC's. I also use it from head to toe & for cooking but that's a whole 'nother thing.
Coco milk is excellent as a DC alone or added to other things. I also use it to cook my rice n peas, & to make drinks
