TRANSITION OVER! 11-22-14
I always wanted to see what the coconut oil hype was on the hair. The NY heat was so bad, it melted my oil.:lachen: I put some of the oil on my hair and wow! My curls as well as I am very happy! I especially love how soft my skin feels. I am thankful that someone posted a thread on this somewhere on the board.

Girrrrrl, the coconut oil on skin is awesome. I haven't used lotion in months now. No need to reapply and skin stays soft and beautiful. I am looking forward to using it in my hair whenever I take my braids out too. I saw someone's 4B hair look so healthy and shiny after she applied coconut oil that I cannot wait to try it. I remember when I was a kid people using coconut oil and having soft hair, but I was a grease queen then and just couldn't get with it.

I hope this isn't a dumb question but the coconut oil your talking about is it the one you buy from the grocery store? The one you can use for cooking?

i want the organic kind but i can only go to whole foods when i am at school cause we dont have one. oh well, maybe i will search all the grocery stores.

Wal Mart has coconut oil. After my Spectrum Brand ran out I purchased some Extra Virgin Coconut Oil from Wal Mart. It was located in the vitamin aisle.

The Vitamin Shoppe also has a selection of Extra Virgin Coconut oil brands.

Thanks for reminding me , the coconut oils should be melted by now. I put it away in the winter bcause it was a solid block, couldn't get it out of the bottle!
