My mom has been bugging me to "go to that internet of yours" and find suggestions for good dyes that cover grays.

I have no idea what product she uses now (and she probably has no idea either - she has a stylist), but she thinks it's thinning her hair. Can anyone help out my poor mom?

I use Bigen in Oriental black mixed with dark brown. Works great!!

I just used clairol's Professional Beautiful collection in golden brown. It did cover, but the jury is still out on longevity.

Bigen or semi-permanent hair colors work the best for me.
Another tip is to be cautious about picking a too-dark color, because light brown shows up dark brown on my hair. If I pick a dark brown or black on the box my hair turns blue black.

My mom has relaxed dark brown hair. The last time she colored her hair, the stylist gave her the wrong color, which turned the top of her hair to a light reddish brown color. It looks thinner, too. I guess that's why she wants to switch.
