Hair product junkie reloaded!
I know that many people....at least on BHM....have lace front wigs (the April seems to be most popular). They are all human hair and cost roughly beween$300 to $700 depending on where you go and what you want. I am just wondering though....anyone see a site that sells lace fronts with a high quality synthetic fiber as opposed to human hair? I would think that this one would be cheaper than the others, but I do not know......anyonw know of any sites that do synthetic lace fronts? I am just curious.

oh wow, thanks! I had never seen a synthetic one before....wow, it sure does not look as real as the human one....lol. No wonder no one gets the synthetic! :/

I purchased a lacefront from His and Hers for about $200 and I love it. The front hairline was a lil unaturally thick when I first got it. So I cut/pulled some of the hairs out... It is not synthetic though. The hair texture is human natural perm straight. It looks VERY real. For the price u cant beat it!.. I have pics in my fotki... Fotki info is in my profile.

wow! Caremend, that looks so real!! It's amazing. I like the his and her site. They have a lot of info on weaves too. I'm going to check out the lace front.

Are you supposed to cut the lace off yourself?

Is that YOUR scalp showing through in the part or is that the wig's part?

Im not sure if you are supposed to cut the lace yourself but I did :) No problems w/it...

The scalp u see in the pic is the wig. You can place the part anywhere. In the pic I think its on the side but now Im wearing a middle part..... My hair is braided into 6 big cornrows going back underneath!!!

Beautiful!!!

I was reading up on this online and it said that the lace has to be replaced due to wear....and it wasn't cheap. Of course, that's only one site's opinion.

DITTO!!! I have been searching online for lace front wigs (human hair), but haven't come across that many. The search continues. If anyone finds some sites, please post so that the rest of us know. lol

Oh, are these wigs any lighter than others...lighter as in cooler? I know it's just the front (and possibly back) that is lace, but I am wondering if the material for the cap is lighter.....spring/summer is coming. :)

Okay!! I am seriously considering this.

So how do you blend the lace??

And Carmend- that looks so beautiful and real on you.

Carmend, BEAUTIFUL, now I'm off to get my hair weaved. I am interested in this but I would really really love a deeper curl.

DS, I love they way your hair looks when you did it as well. :)

I dont have to blend the lace b/c I cut it all the way back to the hairline of the wig. The edge/hairline of the wig is sitting about 1/4 inch in front of my real hairline. I put a thin strip of glue on my forehead then lay the lace on top. As w/most lace fronts the 1st inch of the wig is lace then it turns into a monofilament top, which looks like human scalp no matter what u place it on top of. Many regualar wigs(good ones) have monofil top. The rest of my wig looks like a regular wig once u get past the crown of the head. The lace is thin enough so that no matter what u lay it on top you are gonna see thru it. Thats why I cut the waistband off a pair of stockings to put around my hairline to serve as the "scalp" color that is underneath the lace. Otherwise you would see my black hair underneath. I purchased the Amber in natural perm straight, color 1B. There are plenty of sites out there that sell lacefronts. I bought this one mainly b/c it was the cheapest :D and I didnt really want to put alot of money into something I was sure I was gonna like. I ended up loving it.

The longest I have kept is on is 2 nights in a row, but I know other who leave it on for a week or more. But I need to let me scalp breathe. Im pretty sure I couldnt do this in the summer b/c it would be too hot for me. That the main reason why I have always hated wigs. This one is lighter than a regular wig but still too hot to me. But every person is different and Im sure there are others that wear during the summer w/no problem. Look at Beyonce and Tyra Banks and 'nem. They wear theirs all the time

I also have the amber and I really love it...so much I want to buy another one and cut and highlight it. Although its pretty wiggy in the pics in my fotki I didnt pull hairs cos I figured they'd come out on their own from brushing/combing and they have, imo it looks so much more natural now after wearing it for about a month--think its pretty light but I also have cut all my hair off since it was damaged anyways. I dont even use a strong adhesive just tape or place it over a stocking cap and go..I wouldnt want to wear a wig to sleep and I take it off when I get home but I do want a strong adhesive so when Im dancing I dont loose it.lol. What glue do you use caremend?

I JUST purchased the Amber also (In bodywave because I wanted a lighter color), and I will probably staighten it also.

Wow this is so exciting because it looks so good on you. Can't wait till I get mine on Wednesday!

And it was only 209 including shipping.

Last week I went to Peruke Hair on Wilshire (http://www.hairpiece.com/) and tried on the April lacefront and all I can say is WOW! It is human hair and is absolutely beautiful and was on sale for $299. Right now, the colors are very limited and they manager said he will get more in 1 month.

That must be an instore sale only because on the site it is $350. Because I surely would have bought it for $299.

I still want to get the April later on down the line though.
