Cutting shears

Can anyone tell me what's the best cutting shears on the market for kinky hair ? I'm kinda lost.

My stylist was supposed to order some for me, but she changed her mind, cause she told me I can't trim my hair by myself, it's impossible (read : I'm gonna lose you as a customer).

I hadn't trim my hair since December. Now my hair is in braids (much needed break).

Any suggestions ?

PS: I don't live near a Sally, so don't tell me to go there, lol
