I'll be honest. My wigs are pretty expensive and take a lot of prep work to look natural so I'd never do that. I don't want to have to keep washing my wigs. I already wash them 1x per week or biweekly.
I liked the convenience but I usually ended up with over moisturized hair by the time I got home
Are you relaxed or natural?
Natural.
If there was a way to do it without the shower cap that wouldn't mess up the wig it might have been better. But all that trapped heat wasn't doing my hair any favors.
I do with my cheaper wigs with bangs it's easier to hide the plastic cap whilst still looking "natural"
I don't wear wigs much anymore, but when I did, I would deep condition under my wig frequently. I would put on the dc, put on a shower cap, put on a wig cap/scarf, apply my wig and go! It saved me the time of having to dc overnight or under the dryer.
starchgirl, I always thought this would get too hot.
That sounds interesting. Have you done that before? What kind of conditioner do you use?I'm doing it right now because I was lazy. I put the DC, braided my hair and let it dry overnight. Then I put on my scarf and my wig in the morning. I've had it in all week.
I'm natural
@jbwphoto1 - I only got hot with this when it was in the middle of the Summer and spending alot of time outside.
