DIY microlinks and/or hair fusions

Has anyone here tried to do their own do it yourself microlinks or fusions? I am thinking about getting it done to my hair, but I keep seeing youtube instructional videos about how to put them in and I am wondering if it is something that really needs to be done by a professional or can I do them myself. Someone talk me off of this ledge b/c it is so much cheaper to buy the supplies and do it at home than it is to go somewhere and pay someone hundreds of dollars to do it.

I have
it's easy to do your own, just make sure you don't over smash the micro rings. when you take them out they could get caught in the hair. I only that issue with two of the beads.

The beades where light weight and not uncomfortable at all.

does anyone know if one method (fusions vs microlinks) are more damaging to your hair? I found a vendor that can sell me some kinky straight pretipped hair, so I think I might be leaning towards fusions.
