I only co wash my hair now. I don't even use baking soda any more. The first two weeks of no poo, was difficult(I had alot of build up), But into the 4th week now, my scalp hardly has any build up when co was day comes, and my hair is very easy to manage.

Anyone else strictly cowash?

Absolutely every week can't live without it I have oily skin so I must shampoo co-washing isnt nearly enough. I focus the shampoo on my scalp as thats the only part that gets build-up. I use sulfate-free NourishSpa:yep:

Sometimes I'll generously add conditioner and rinse out twice to get most of the build-up off my hair, then end with shampoo, that makes me use less shampoo and it makes it be able to lather from the first wash.

I always shampoo.

I co-wash every day. I still use shampoo from time to time, but it could pass more than 3 weeks with no shampoo. I don't miss it, but sometimes, when i use a very tick and hard to clean product, i shampoo my hair.

I tried to exclusively cowash, but my scalp stinks horribly. It has never really felt clean, and this is after clarifying with a shampoo and then going back to cowashing. I also did baking soda, but I don't think it does anything. I have to go back to shampoo, and the shampoo I am going to use is Black Earth Total Body Shampoo. I try to only use shampoo on my scalp, but this shampoo is so moisturizing that it doesn't really matter that much if I happen to shampoo my ends.

i shampoo every other wash, & use a shampoo with sulfates 1x per month to remove build-up. i use a lot of cones in my regimen, so i need shampoo to remove them :yep:

mushy hair = the sensation you get when your hair is overmoisturized. it'll feel very soft & squishy, & more fragile than usual. the opposite of mushy hair is protein-overloaded hair, which is stiff & hard.

Nah. Shampoo is old school to me right now... It's all about the water, baking soda and tea tree oil. Lol. I've only washed with this 3 times so i'm seeing how it goes. But right now it's agreeing with my scalp.

I pretty much cowashed exclusively at the start of my HHJ and endured the build up until my monthly shampoo, but I like my scalp clean and when I cowash if I don't rinse well enough I end up with build up on my scalp which = itching shortly after.

I now shampoo at least once every week and a half or so.

I still shampoo, I shampoo concentrating on the scalp, i'm trying to find sulfate free shampoos because I feel like when I shampoo it causes my hair to shed while doing so, i've tried cowashing and had no shedding but my scalp still had an odor so back to shampoo :(

oh well for now I guess there's always giovanni products.

I moisterize shampoo 2 weeks/half way into the month then I sulfate 2 weeks later/end of month

Yep, I shampoo. I especially love my clarifying poo (Elucence).

I co-wash every 3-4 days, but I use a lot of oils and butter moisturizers, so I need to wash the residue off.

Last Thursday, I started off co-washing, then moved to moisturizing shampoo when I couldn't get rid of all the castor oil buildup, then brought out the clarifying poo to finish up the job. That JBCO is tough to remove, LOL! Anyways, my hair has never felt better...I love the clean feeling of freshly shampooed hair.
