Does alcohol cause hair loss?

I noticed heavy shedding after drinking too much. Besides improving my diet, I used Evavitae's anti-hair loss and hair growth products, and saw a clear improvement. I love that their formula is gentle and dye-free.

I would say that it would probably depend on the individual. It might have that affect on some people and not others. Alcohol consumption hasn't ever caused my hair to fall out.

Over the years I've had times when I'm drinking quite heavily, usually around summer time or end of year lol, it's never affected my hair negatively.

How much alcohol are you talking about? Chronic alcohol misuse/abuse absolutely depletes vitamins. Zinc, iron, folate, thiamine, magnesium, Vitamins A/D/E/K(if you end up with pancreatitis or liver disease), etc. Many of these vitamins are the same ones you need to maintain healthy hair.
If you’re talking about an occasional drink, then no. It shouldn’t.

That's a good point, the answer will also be subjective to the person answering. One person's view of excessive drinking will be very different to the next person's.

I know someone who consumes alcohol everyday, I think that is extremely excessive, they don't agree, they justify it not being a problem because they no longer consume the amounts per day as they once did.

I know someone who only drinks occasionally, it doesn't take much for them to become inebriated.

That's just a couple of examples, there's probably a lot of additional variables that could be factored into the mix as well.

This is true, but to be clear, I’m always approaching this as a physician. Alcohol consumption is so normalized in the US/West that people are actively abusing and misusing alcohol and don’t even realize it. Alcohol Use Disorder and what defines it isn’t up to an individual’s opinion. It’s a diagnosis…and unfortunately, far too many people have the issue and don’t realize it.

I completely agree with you. People do seem to answer subjectively as to how they feel, and as the question doesn't include a quantitative amount, answer to it will likely be subjective.

When I mentioned variables, I was referring to the size, weight height, sex and potentially having higher levels of the vitamins and minerals you listed.

ETA for clarity: Those variables will impact how the same amount of alcohol affects different people.

Agreed. They have made several posts like this It’s definitely giving spam. I remember, the site used to block and delete posts like this. You weren’t allowed to sell products within the threads, even if you had a business account.
