Does your NG/natural hair need oil to get straight?

I think I may have discovered something yesterday. I sprayed a light oil spray on my bangs NG before I flat ironed them. Today, my hair seems straighter than it just gets with serum.

I'm wondering, is there something about oil that helps hair get straighter?

I discovered that too... I got the idea from one of the members here... I used KeraCare Oil Sheen before I flat iron and my hair turns out perfect. I use the entire Redken Smooth Down line (Shampoo, Butter Treat, Detangler & Serum) and let my hair air dry overnight in 6 twist. Before flat ironing each section I lightly sprayed each with the oil sheen and combed then flat ironed... results = silky straight soft hair!

mine doesn't. my hair is straight with just a leave-in and a dime size amount of serum.

I know Boston Maria (and other ladies) uses coconut oil when she straightens her hair. I haven't tried it yet though.
