Dominican ladies, come in here! Hair terms in spanish!

Ok. I can speak spanish very well but I hardly speak to the hairdressers because I don't many hair terms. Like I know to relax is lisar. I know the hooded dryer is secador. I don't know how to say blow dry, I know in french, it's "brushing."

But I don't know how to say hair roots, I know how to say ethnic roots, "raices" but I know that's not how you say hair roots right,
Like, how do you say, blow out my roots or "my relaxer was under processed."

I feel kind of silly not knowing these things.

Also what does pelo moño mean?

pelo mono? are you sure?
pelo mojo means wet hair.

arreglar el pelo- (cut and style my hair)
encrespado - frizzy hair
echar pelo- grow hair
maquina de cortar el cabello- hair clippers
color de pelo- hair color
gomina- hair gel
alisador del pelo- hair straightener
estilista- hair stylist
cabello cortado a capas- layered hair

Nooo... Mono (moonoo) is a monkey. El pelo moño (monyo)can be a big ponytail or a big bun or just big hair in general. Usuallly when we (I'm Domonican) say someone has a moño it's big hair or moñito.. a big beehive, or big tall hair or some kind of big hairpeace on your head. But when you say "el pelo moño" it's the "big head of hair or bun".

Yep go there and its a glossary of spanish terms and their meaning. I have studied it for my salon trips and it works!

I suggest saying "pasame el blower en las raices nadamas" which means to do ur roots only .
