Dove Intense Moisture Conditioner reforumlated??

I went to the store to pick up some of my Dove Intense Moisture conditioner and saw that the label said, "our best formula ever." I managed to find one of the old bottles to compare ingredients and verify that they were indeed different.

So I scoured the shelves and realized that I had found the last bottle of the old formula. So I ended up buying one of the old and one of the new (then I went to another store and bought the last 2 bottles of the old formula there ).

I've been burned by Dove before (when they reformulated their Moisture Mist-- and I didn't like the new one). This conditioner is one of my all time STAPLES. I love this stuff. I would be SO sad if it weren't as good anymore.

Has anyone tried the new formula yet? Is it as good as the old one?

I'm going to try it out tomorrow and see for myself. I hope I'm not disappointed.

I've tried it. It's ok. I just buy glycerin and drop a few drops in there. I's just as good.

I hope it's as good, or better. I don't have a back-up conditioner to replace it. I have been depending on this one for years.

It does. I posted too fast and didn't realize I was in the wrong forum. I just pm'ed a mod and asked them to move it for me.

I feel a little slow. I realized it was in the wrong place when I couldn't find it over there.

I know, I know. It's like living from paycheck to paycheck with no savings account. I should know better.

And if it wasn't bad enough that they reformulated my very beloved Dove, I just found out that the Walmarts in my area have stopped carrying Africa's Best Hair Mayo. <heartbreak> I felt like a hair junkie scouring the city to see if anyone's selling it still. I NEED this stuff in my life. If I find some I am cleaning out there entire stock (even what's in the back).

I don't know what I will do if I have to replace these two products. I still don't advocate product junkism, but I am all in favor of stockpiling now. I've learned my lesson.

Good news!! First, I found out a beauty supply near me has the Africa's Best Liquid Hair Mayo (so I purchased all they had on the shelves just in case--it was only 4 bottles). Second, I tried the reformulated Dove and it seems to be at least as good as the old one, maybe even a bit better. I need to try it a few more times to say for sure that it's better.

But disaster has been averted and I have learned my lesson. Keep a good supply of the staples on hand at all times.

I'm sure you'll find your staples soon. If it makes you feel any better, they reformulated my former deep conditioner staples (ORS Hair Mayo and ORS conditioning pak). I purchased the new ones without knowing, and it took me awhile to figure out why I didn't like them as much anymore.

So now I am in search for a new deep conditioner. If have one that I'm going to audition as soon as the jar of ORS Hair Mayo I have is done (I don't like it as much as the original, but it's not horrible).
