PICS**Ever feel like instead of growing long your hair just finds new places to grow?
Ok, I finally have some pictures, they are not the best but I will try again this weekend after cowashing. Forgive the mess, I was visiting my mom and went to my younger sister's room to have her take the pictures.
The good thing about taking pictures is that it helps diagnose problems you may not even be aware of, for example, I had no idea that the back of my head was getting a little thin. Now that I know I am on a mission. I love ORS temple balm and 'baby don't be bald'-the blue one that smells a little like baby powder, it has some questionable ingredients, i.e. 'hormones' but it never fails to help regrow my edges. I still have some stray relaxed end to chop off.
Why is hair growing all the way down my neck? and I have to constantly shave my 'sideburns' sheesh, I want long hair not to be a hairy monster
. Anyway here goes nothing.
I do, I have no problems growing hair, my new growth usually is very noticeable after a month in extensions, now my goal is to try to retain lenght.
Ok so my last relaxer was in April 2010, the weak relaxed hair was getting on my nerves... so I removed my extensions and cut off most of my relaxed hair yesterday (YEAH!!!), I will shape it and cut any little pieces i've missed as my hair grows.
The blessing and the curse is that my hair is THICKKKKKK!, I have about 5 inches of hair and I started twisting it into pencil size twist and after two hours I was nowhere near to being done (not even close to the middle of my head), so I gave up and just put it in big cornrows which I will wear under wigs for the next month.
It was as I was trying to twist my hair that I remember being in the bathroom for over two hours crying when I was 10 (the age my dad decided I was old enough to do my own hair). It was total Deja Vu, I swear I wanted to cry. My arms were killing me from having it up so long. I will have to start lifting weights just to be able to do my hair, I was tired and couldn't see the end. I was at once scared and excited to think of having to do my hair when it gets longer, I have to train myself now, so that I don't fall back to relaxer or damage my hair.
But even with all this I am determined to remain natural, and limit the heat that I put on my head to no more that twice a year because my hair really is healthier now than it ever was relaxed.
I will be stalking some people on here and fotki to pick up some hints on how to do my hair.
I will update later with pics.
