Has anyone ever used their hair before in the curly texture. I want to get a syle that looks like Kelly's from destiny child in the fall (only shorter)

myindianhair.com sells it
and
extensions plus zizg zag hair in naturally curly

Just want to know if any has used it before and what were the results.

Example of Hair (on Kelly)

TIA

I read on another site that Kelly had indian hair with this style. I know for a fact having done some TV work that extentions plus has fabulous hair that is the best match for black hair but they are very pricey. LaVar Salon in New York owned by Elllin LaVar referred me to extentions plus in Califorinia. I had to go for consultation to obtain a perfect hair match. Extention Plus is mainly for entertainment industry and just recently started opening there doors to the public. The indian hair site should also give beautiful hair for that style the only problem I have with indian hair is that its texture does not seem realistic for black people especailly after a few days. When I had it in my hair and I had some of the best indian hair found in California I had to wash it twice a week because it became flat and greasy/shining looking. The wavy look would probaly be more natural for us especailly if you want to oil your scalp.:)

Out of those two sites, I would go with extension plus. I know everyone who knows about weave will say this. Myindianhair.com is trouble!!

My sister ordered some indian hair a couple of months ago, and she was having the same problems. The texture is so fine and it starts looking limp and greasy after a couple of days.

Thanks ladies.

Star I called the Cust Service for Extensions Plus and she said Kelly has the Curly hair (the same one I am looking at). It is a blend of Italian and Indian hair.

I will go with Extension Plus. Gabrielle Union says her weave hair is from extensions-plus as well :D

Thanks again ladies

Extensions Plus is Great. Be sure to order custimized hair and NOT the ready-made hair from their softwear line. The softwear line is cheap terrible BSS hair that is manufactured in China. HTH.

I went to the site and I dont see the same curly hair under the custom products. How do you go about getting that?

I did try this on my own as well mixing hair and does seem to work. I use the coarse hair for the crown then mix in indian hair with course hair every over layer it seem to work out the one time I did this. I am glad extentions plus share Kelly's secret this help in making decisions. Sounds like your hair is going to be fabulous. :D

It is kinky-straight or texturize. You may have to call I know some textures or special request but not a problem for them to make.

i met this girl at my train station and her hair was fierce..she brought her hair from adorables..i like it even better that lugo's hair!! it was a nice wave pattern not to loose or tight like kelly's...she brought it from the store in manhattan..but i think u can purchase it online too.. and she bleached it from brn. to blond...it was soooo nice... i will buy from them the next time i weave..

I met someone who uses Adorables hair and she reuses the same hair for 4 years and it still looks fresh and new...forgot all about it.

HMMMM it would be nice to be able to see the hair in person. I may have to stop by there and check them out.

Where is adorables?

Adorable is on 24th Street btwn broadway and 6th (?) I bought wet/wavy hair from them before but I thought it was way too tangly. Could have gotten that from cheaper BSS hair...

Thanks...I work near there, I think I will stick with Ex-plus

It seems like Adorables is so iffy. I went there and did not like the hair at all for weaving. I bought some for braiding and I bought some of their kinky hair which really is kinky as opposed to tight curls.

lkg4healthyhair- What exactly did you end up getting from extensions plus and do you like it?

Star- To clarify a bit you mix alternate tracks of kinky straight with Indian Remi?
If so is the kinky straight from indian remi hair just processed or is it processed chinese hair. Also does it tangle or swell at all?

I want to try their Relaxed hair line but there were complaints about it on other boards. I love the 6/7/13 color combo they have.

Star I spoke to someone is customer service at Ex-plus and she said she has had customers do the same thing with good results. She said they use the "texurized hair" at the crown then the naturally curly the way you described. She also said the texturized hair is like African Amer course relaxed hair.

I also asked if they would cutom make the naturally curly and she said it would be expensive and the method you described works very well on AA hair.
She also said cutom made hair sew on hand tied wefts cannot be cut so you will have to give specific instructions on the sizes you want each piece.

The ready made hand tied wefts can be cut with no problem.

I wish I could see it in person.

I have not bought my hair yet? I will be buying next month but I like to give myself time to really look at all my options since the prices are not cheap, and I prefer recommmendations. Extensions plus seems like a winner.

I asked the cust service about mixing the hair and she said people have used the texturized hair with the naturally curly (italian and indian) with good results. I believe she said the texturized hair was Italian hair.

lkg4healthyhair- I still am a little bit confused. If the texturized hair looks like Af-Am course relaxed hair why would you wear it for a curly style? Or does it curl up when wet? It seems to me like the rep suggested for you to mix it with Indianand Italian curly or am I wrong on that? Sorry for asking so many questions. TIA.

I know exactly what you mean it worked out for me that I was traveling to CA and I made consultation appointment with them. The other alternative is to get licences hairdresser to fax her liscense to them she or he then can get samples of the hair mail to them. But if you decide to do like she describe I do not think you will be disappointed. I just used something close to our hair on the crown for blending and it was undetectable. I am sure you can get some kinky hair and indian hair near you and try this whole method out before the fly to CA or spend alot money.

I used kinky hair about four tracks on the crown of my head for blending my own hair with it. I did have a natural part at the top so their was hair out. Then I added 2 rows of indian hair and rotating between indian and kinky for the rest of my hair. My hair did not come out too bulky and it looked more natural. I think the kinky hair was indian hair at one point but not 100% sure. I just know it was texturized hair. Hope this help. :)

Yes that is what she was saying (which was Star's method she mentioned above) alternating rows of tex and indian. BUT she said I could also do it with the naturally curly (use tex in the crown area for a more natural look). I would probably have to put rollers in it at night so that it will blend with the naturally curly style.

That is a good idea about the samples. I will give them a call. I would really like a sample of the texturized and nat curly.

I was watching Kelly on Good Morning America, and I was all up in her head. I taped it so I could pause it and look at the texture. I really like it, and it definitely looks like the nat curly hair.

Thanks for the tips Star

Here is a picture of the back of her, did the people at Extensions Plus mention who her stylist was, the placement looks great

Hey,
Let a sista know how this works out. I have been wanting to try something new .Last curly weave I had I used adorable hair. It was Okay but not perfect. I really do like Kelly's texture!

Hi, I'm new to posting but i had a quick question, I wanted to know from anyone who has already ordered from extensions plus can you order by phone or does it have to be by faxing in your information. I would call but i think they are already closed. Thanks!

Bumping to see if anyone can share their experience w/ EPRT. I would be a first time purchaser of anything but BSS

Hi Loved!

I am currently on the Weave and Hide Your Hair Challenges and I am using the Extensions Plus Relaxed Texture. It is a PERFECT match for my hair and I love it! It is expensive but I have been able to re-use it 3 times and it still looks great. It blends with my hair perfectly-nobody knows that I have a weave unless I tell them.

One thing is that consider the hair as an investment. Don't abuse it (go crazy with heat and harsh products).
