I am trying to do finger coils. Some of them turn out great and others won't coil or the coil and the bottom and root, but not in the middle:perplexed. What can I do to get good coils every time? I'm doing this on wet hair. I moisturize with QB AOHC, seal with butter and use a dab of gel on each coil. I am getting frustrated and words of wisdom or tutorials would be appreciated.

Try to use more gel, maybe? I wore coils a lot last year and one of my combos was Oyin Hair Dew and Ecostyler Gel.

I remember her posting a youtube video of how she does her finger coils. I thought I had bookmarked it, but I can't find the video.

What I do recall is the use of clips at the root of the coil.

I can't remember the one video I posted, but here's one that shows how to get the perfect curl from root to tip--Even though her hair is very long, I think this is a great video that shows the technique that can be used on all hair types--go to around 2:50 of the video

Here's another one, her hair is shorter, but her tiny curls are so adoreable, got to around 2:00 of the video.
