I just relaxed my hair using Silk Elements Lye Mild. The crown of my hair did very well, but the hair on the sides did not take at all. I don't think I left it on long enough. What should I do? Should I wait a few days and just go back through the sides? I need help ya'll. Thanks!

Wanted to add that it had been 8 months since my last one. I don't htink I put enough on my sides and nape. Thanks for the help

I don't know. I don't think I'd do a corrective so soon. Do you have a good flat iron? Maybe you could straighten it that way for the next 4 weeks, then go back through.

I don't have much experience with correctives, so I'm sure someone else can give you a better answer.

I have a flat iron, and I flat ironed my hair today and put it in a bun. I'm going to wait, I was just wondering how long.

Hmmmm. Well, my last relaxer was 5 1/2 mos ago. 2 weeks b/4 that i had a family friend put in phytospecific but it was index1 and i should've gotten index 2 and my hair didn't get straight at all. My relaxer 2 wks later did fine and no breakage. But you may want to wait longer. i really don't know. All i can say is *I* did okay 2 weeks later....:ohwell:

I did a successful corrective relaxer 8 days after my hair was relaxed. No problems or damage from the correction. Make sure to deep condition and keep the relaxer in for a short time.
