Compliments of the Mountain Rose Herbs catalog 2002 -2003 edition.

To make your own shampoo: For a wonderful, natural, conditioning shampoo combine: 2ozs. liquid castille soap, 3 ozs. flower water, 1/2 oz. jojoba oil, 1/2 oz. vegetable glycerine and 1/4 teaspoon grapefruit seed extract. For additional benefit and an aromatic shampoo, add 6 to 10 drops of non-irritating essential oils. Mix thoroughly, pour into an 8 oz bottle, add a pump and voila!!

To make your own rinse: For a fabulous, natural, conditioning rinse place 2 ozs. of nettle leaves, 1 oz. each of horsetail and rosemary leaves in a clean glass jar, add enough apple cider vinegar to have at least an inch of vinegar on top of the herbs. Cover and steep for 2 to 3 weeks. Strain and dilute 1/2 with 1/2 with distilled water. Pour into a 4 oz bottle, refrigerate the rest for later use. Use about a tablespoon as a conditioner after shampooing and rinse. Leaves your hair clean, shiny and ph balanced. Terrific used in combination with the castillle based shampoo.
