I've done the faux locs with yarn but the next set i want to use kanekalon hair to wrap the braid with. I've googled but everywhere i look most are using kinky hair. Has anyone used Kanekalon to wrap with?
That is the best, easiest method I have seen. I actually have them in my hair now. I will post pictures.
ETA: Sorry, just reread your post. I have done this with the hair you mentioned also, but in my opinion, it looks too fake and shiny. I totally recommend using Marley hair for the style. Is there a reason you would not like to use the Marley hair? Let me know. I can help.
Those are very pretty. I was looking for a more smoother look like the attached. Sorry if they is someone's picture on the hair board. Although she said she used the Marley hair I'm just wondering if it will look smoother with kanekalon. I don't want it to me too skinny it looks really fake
Yes, the tutorial I sent and your picture come from the same person. She indeed used marley hair. The kanekalon is harder to work with. I recommend just trying it on one braid to see what it looks like and make your decision, as you will probably be using kanekalon for the length of the original braid itself. Let me know if you have any questions.
How did you seal the locs at the bottom? I am in the process of installing my loc extensions and I am looking for a better way to seal the bottoms.... I wrap them super tight and when I get to the bottom I start going back up the loc a bit, I snip the little bit of braid hair that is left at the bottom, and burn the ends and roll them in my finger tips then I go up the loc a bit and glide the flame over the loc lightly.... I men it works but I like the way the bottoms of yours look...
