Does anyone wear a plastic cap under their wig for long periods of time? For instance if I wear a lace front wig for 1-2 weeks, can I leave a plastic cap on underneath or would that damage my hair? How much does the scalp need to "breathe"?

ETA: I mean can I wear the cap consistently without removing it?

I did it for 1 year and a half straight. I liked that I got no breakage and it kept my hair very moisturized but I realize now that it possibly contributed to my ends (to about 7" from the ends) being a lot weaker than the rest of my hair and breaking easier due to being wet all the time.
If you're going to GH under a wig, let your hair dry/scalp breathe at least once a day or GH under it for a certain period of time.

I was trying to figure out which would do less damage- consistently leaving a cap on my head for one week straight or applying and removing a lace front wig (with glue) daily.
