I'm doing a trim my own back to shoulder length for summer time does it matter what scissors i use as long as their hair scissors

Just... don't use scissors that are used on anything but your hair, it makes the blades dull. 
Some people swear by really professional hair scissors while others just use regular scissors that are reserved hair only. It's up to you, like I said, keep whatever you pick for HAIR ONLY. Don't go using the same scissors to cut up paper, string and whatever — dull blades cause splits.
