Its summer and its getting hotter...perfect time for hair cuts...I know hair cut seems to be a foreign phrase around here unless your doing a bc. But has anyone got a haircut recently? (not bc...) If so how much did you cut? Are you happy with it now, or do you wish you would have kept it the length it was previously?

i got a blunt cut with bangs about a month ago. i went from touching apl to shoulder length, so a few inches.

now i don't like it too much since i've decided to transition. no point of bangs when you have an inch of new growth.
 
I got what was suppose to be a trim but ended up being about a 2 inch cut! For some that's not a lot but for me, it makes me feel like my hair is not growing. I don't really like it all to much because my bun feels smaller, but my ends are nice and blunt. I cut based on the lunar chart for lengthening about 3 weeks ago and it seems to be growing like a weed. I'm not to sure if its my imagination or if it really works. We shall see I already said that if I don't make apl by sept then I'm cutting it off and going au natural!
 
Where is this lunar chart I keep hearing about? Sounds like something I read when researching Wicca for a writing project years ago.
 
Last weekend, I cut 1" off my ends...they were thin and really needed to go. I'm gonna wait until December and cut off another inch. I love freshly cut ends!
 
Ive cut my hair which is crazy. I grow my hair out all winter stating that i want my hair to grow out but then the sun comes out to play in i cut it off. lol lol
 
I just recently did! I couldn't take this mullet anymore... :look: sorry!

First I picked out my hair to trim overall... then I washed it and snipped the back some more while it was coily. No more MBL for me, but that's okay. I'm still BSL, and since the front is APL I don't feel like my layers are so "severe."

I will do no more snipping until late fall/winter! By then I am hoping all the shorter layers that are APL, will be BSL. :yep:
 
I recently cut about 4 inches due to my hair thinning. It looks soooo much better now, although I wish it were thicker. No use in hanging on to old scraggely, super thin ends :nono:

Went from thisclose to MBL back to a little above APL. But I'm now right at BSB :D

I want a haircut too. Your hair came out great. I wish I was confident enough to cut my own hair. I don't like the shape my hair is in after it dries and shrinks up. I think part of the problem is that I have different textures in my hair that shrink up different ways when dry.

I want to get my hair cut and shaped in a way that showcases my curls and lets them fall nicely when dry. But I also don't want my hair to look chopped up and uneven should I decide to wear it straight every blue moon. I'm just scared of letting someone near me with scissors (that I don't know is an expert on cutting curly hair). I wish I knew someone to go to. I really, really want to get a haircut.

I totally understand. I was like that forever and a day, which is why I got these layers in the first place so it would look decent curly or straight. But I think I'm over totally straight hair for a minute or so. I'm quite sure if I straightened it today it would be pretty uneven! :lol:

Your problem (and mine too, actually) is the exact reason I decided to take the plunge and go to cosmetology school. Too many of us naturals have this problem! :yep:

Just cut my ends to a blunt bob from NL to I guess chin/jaw length. I love it, it got rid of thin ends and flatters my face soooooooooooooo much more. My hair is healthy and looks healthier so It's all good.
 
I cut my hair hair last month. I went from BSL to just above shoulder length. Which reminds me I need to change my avatar picture :lachen:.
 
Im also thinking of doing a cut...my ends are pretty uneven and i've been snipping away about an inch at a time for about 6 months...it will just grow out and look about the same as it did before I cut it...soo if were to do the cut, then I would probably cut around bsl...
 
I have an appt next week. I think I have the worse problem of all. My hair has NO STYLE to it. It's different lengths and looks crazy if there are no tight curls in it. :nono: I will just cut it to ear length to start fresh.
 
I want to do a trim this summer so i'm eyeballing a few places that I hope i can trust to do this trim. I want to trim maybe 1/2" or so all around. I may just do it myself but i'm not sure. I usually do my trims but i'm thinking this time i may want to try a professional.
 
it's tempting but i promised myself i would grow it for a year. i have done a few trims and, unfortunately, took off more than i liked. however, i don't have a style to grow out.
 
WELL I FINALLY DID IT!!! :grin::grin::grin::grin:
I cut off all my uneven permed ends and my hair currently grazing my shoulders. It is beautiful & has lots of weight. I consider it my BC cause I haven't have this amount of hair for years. My SO and family love it but I did it on 6/1/09 with every intention to do all I can to have something similar to the afro in my signature or close to it by December 09.

Mostly I want to watch my ends closely. I rarely use direct heat anymore and wanted to give my hair a chance to speak. I am closely monitoring what my hair is telling me. Adding rest, water and serious excercise to my regi are my top priorities now. I am not a PJ but I have enough on my shelves. This investment in myself is bound to payoff handsomely....

Last month I cut an inch off my ends. I went from full APL to regular APL. My ends still look kind of thin but that is all that I was willing to cut.
 
haven't posted on this thread in a while...but im seriously considering doing a cut next week...only about 2 or 3 inches...im nervous though. :-/ First ever real hair cut in my entire life...(i've only done self trims)
