Very short: Halle Berry cut
Short: above shoulders
Medium: shoulder length
Long: below shoulder length
Very long: below waist length

Great thread! It will be so interesting to see how different people's views are about what's short and long. Here's mine:
Very short:Halle Berry cut
Short:above shoulders(Oprah Winfrey)
Medium:Between shoulders and bra-strap(Gabrielle Union)
Long:Bra-strap to waist(Beyonce's weave)
Very long:Below waist(Daryl Hannah in "Splash" or the women in the "Lord of the Rings" movies)

I can't wait to read what everyone else says!

Short: Chin to lower neck
Medium: bottom of neck to just below shoulder
Long: Collar Bone to Bra- strap
Very Long: below Bra-strap to waist
Out of this world: Anything past the booty

Medium--ear to shoulder--Oprah, Nia Long (Boyz in the Hood and Big Momma's House)

Medium/Long--an inch or two below the shoulder--Regan Gomez on Parenthood

Long--Essence Atkins, Mowry twins or longer

Genetic Freak--Crystal Gayle, Alanis Morissette

Yes, Alanis cut her hair short recently. I don't like it, makes her look older.

Short: chin length to shoulder length
medium: shoulder length to mid back
long: mid back to waist
Very long: anything below than waist length

I think Crystal Gayle is Loretta Lynn's younger sister. That would make them both daughters of the same coal miner. I'll see if I can find an article to verify this.

I do not like that site. Most of the pictures are of Beyonce or Halle. It is not representative of all black hair. Especially since B's hair is mostly weaves.
