Okay, so I'm 8wks post (i'll be 12wks post, Sept 17th) I was just strolling through my local BSS and saw all kinds of tempting goodies. I promised myself that I wouldnt purchase anything new..but the products were calling me. Shampoos, conditioners, Sulfur 8 grease...wigs, weaves, ponies...I was about to loose my mind. And when I hit the boxed perm aisle...oh boy. I saw a Profectiv relax and color kit. :} I stood on that aisle..staring at that box for I know 10 minutes. I'm trying to stretch...but it's getting hard. I want to use the Phyto...but the Profectiv was so convient (and I've had good results with it before)...it took all of my strength to walk out of there...empty handed.
So Ladies...what are your hair temptations?
It's okay...you can tell us...we wont tell :)

Right now a relaxer is just too tempting to me. I hate wearing braids all the time and I never know what to do with my natural hair. I pressed it 2 weeks ago and it was already past my bra strap !!!! So I'm even more tempted to just show it off to people who we're like "Why do you wear braids is ur hair nappy/short/broken?"

I dunno... I think I might give in to temptation.

I was in CVS the other day and I saw a Dark and lovely (or some brand name) Extend-a-perm kit. I looked at it for a good several minutes but i decided not to get it.

I gave into mine :D. I bought 1 lb of unrefined shea butter from a vendor today. Don't regret tho ;). But I'm not quite satisfied, the black castor oil is sounding mighty tempting... :lachen:

Trying some of these products that are the new rave. Also, I'm trying to keep out of those Hit & Miss threads unless I'm posting.

My hope is the stick with the same products and to not keep switching. I'd like to be consistant.

I really want to try Jane Carter's Nourishing Cream. But at $20.00 per container, I need to leave that alone.

I am always tempted by heat. When I was natural before I rember how simple it was to manage my hair after a blow dry or press. I am getting super busy now and I don't want to spend the time and then my hair suffers. One day I will figure a way to use heat and not damage. :ohwell:

Elucence products are a big temptation. I want to try them but can't bring myself to order them and have to pay s&h without knowing if they'll work for me.

Also, I love pretty ponytail holders but I know a lot of them would cause breakage so I resist buying them.

Since joining this board, it's gotten even worse. I just ordered the sample package from Quemet Biologics, that iv'e been watching for weeks. A month ago (I was a lurker) I bought Surge. I was reading the postings today and here is my list of things to buy:

Oil Sperm Whale (or Jojoba oil - similar ingredients)
Elasta QP's Breakage Control Serum and Mango butter
Salerm Alter Ego
Pantene (for my co washes now)
Jamaican Black Castor Oil

I'd have to say that heat is my biggest temptation. flat irons, blow dryers and curling irons call me constantly and they tell me to perm again. So far I've been strong but the flesh is weak. :ohwell:

PERM i want a perm look for work and my natural hair for after and weekends so i have settled on a sew in but i am having dreams of perms

i am really tempted to texturize but the thought of being under/overprocessed keeps me natural...............thinking of flying to curve salon in NY

Thanks alot mzjones! :nono: ...sigh...now I am going to by some unrefined shea butter...I thought I was cured! ;)

My temptation has been the urge to purchase every shampoo, conditioner, creme, gel, etc that claims to be natural....

I thought I was the only one to have these dreams. Last night, I dreamed the Creme of Nature perm was chasing me and jumped on my head! Oyy, I need therapy! :lachen:

I've been seriously tempted by the Rusk leave-in conditioners. I tried the Rusk clarifying poo today and it did a great job of getting rid of the cone build-up without stripping my hair. I'm a reformed pj, but I'm about to jump off the wagon and run to the nearest Trade Secret.:D

I was at Whole Foods this past weekend and there was a GREAT SALE on Nature's Gate Shampoos and Conditioners and there were also products from a line called Alba that smelled wonderful!. The sale ends this weekend and I don't know if I will be able to ignore it.

To trim.....just cuz its been awhile. I know my hair isnt damaged but it's a security issue.

Sometimes to relax because Im tired of detangling and putting up with these awful knots:(

I'm slightly tempted to dye my hair jet black

I'm being tempted by the same thing at the moment. My hair is healthier when it's not colored at all, but...

Don't worry lisajames, it's for a goood cause, an "investment," that what I tell myself:lachen:

Anything that has been listed as a curly girl method product or for ladies with curly hair.

Anything on sale at Sally's

To cut off the relaxed ends before time

To texturize when I see some pictures of what it looks like.

I'm a complex individual I guess. ;)
