Has anyone used the new 3/8 inch flat irons?

I'm on a quest to get a flat iron smaller than my usual 1/2 inch. I found a 3/8 inch flat iron at the BSS. The only problem was that the plates did not go to the edge of the flat iron. They sort of sit in the middle, which doesn't make a bit of sense to me. I was wondering if anyone has used this type of flat iron before, and if it made a difference getting close to the roots?

The smallest flat iron I have is the 1 inch just to tame my roots (I never new they came any smaller), but that is definitely something I can look into, since I have to pick up a new bottle of clarifying shampoo. Maybe, you can find one where the plates do reach the edge (b/c that doesn't make sense how that's made).

I have a miniglide which is 1/2" I think. The plates go all the way to the edge, so I can get real close to the scalp. I just got it yesterday for my birthday and used it on my nape during my stretch (10 weeks post). It worked great!

Just like the maxiglide, but waaaayyy smaller and it doesn't have the steam burst.
